I'm going to say that so long as the object is a 'soul receptical' it's okay, for example a souless body can recieve a soul. Likewise he could, if he wished to withdraw from the world to think for a few centuries, Permanently Mind Switch with a gem or crystal of 100 gp or greater value ala magic jar. Near Immortality in exchange for no senses or mobility... until somebody makes a ring out of you.

You could also switch into a dead body, but that would make you an unpreserved undead and you would rot to uselessness fairly quickly.

I can be temporarily a zombie, that sounds a bit interesting, but alas not worth the effort.

Very temporarily. Without necromancy you'd just be hijacking the biology as it stands. Which in most cases short of direct removal of the soul (instant death effects) is compromised enough to have killed the original person

It could be used for emergency espionage. "Oh no, the revolutionary leader has died just before signing the treaty of peace. What will we do?"

A bit like El Cid, for those who know your history, or, like me, played age of empires II.

But now the plot thickens! I wonder what terror must have scared all of these villagers....probably not the Summoner...otherwise she would have "recognized" Frask and just attacked us.

Glad to hear it. Imagine what you, IRL, would do if you were confronted by nine characters each of whom could probably murder a city on their own and there was a 1 in 3 chance that they didn't care whether you lived or died and another 1 in 3 chance that they would specifically enjoy killing you and a 1 in 3 chance that even if they did want you to survive they have a huge potential for collateral damage.

Wetting yourself is the brave option.
