I'm going back and forth on my progression with aiden. My original plan was to be an eldritch knight, but considering the group layout I'm thinking of switching to a mystic thurge.

Eh remember I'm the newbie DM my friend... Where you prestige to is beyond my ken right now.

Lol yeah I know, its a loooong way down the road. I've been in a long running 3.5 game for two years. Started level 3 and am still level 3. Granted its less combat more mystery type of a game.

My recommendation: mystic thurge. You would have a ton of magic to focus on controlling the battlefield and could help out as a back up healer. Eldritch knight is cool but wouldn't fill the same type of role. That said, do whatever you would have fun doing! A lot can change before lvl 20 or even lvl 3.

Am aiming Thod to be an attack of opportunity specialist with the battlefield impression of a dwarf like Athrogate. Will eventually get him spellbreaker and step up along with improved and greater trip, and improved disarm. If he can start knocking guys down and disarming them, he will get AoO's for anything they do! (awesome) Don't really have a ton of self-protection so will likely take the brunt of a lot of damage. The 2-Wpn warrior is able to wield 2 one handed wpns by lvl 11... so do I stick with flails? or if we open up use of other books by then, maybe switch to hooked axes?

With a rogue, a fighter like Thod, a sorcerer, an archer ranger and a cleric, we should be pretty well rounded.
