Wow, running this game is actually turning out some pretty interesting stuff for me.
In just this intro section alone, I'm learning some pretty cool stuff about English brewing of the time. Fascinating... XD Also, a ridiculous number of rather cliched sayings originated in this era... lol

Translation please?
I was gonna go with German, but I thought I'd let your character set the tone ![]()

Was für ein Gluckwünsch! Ich hätte das nie geahnt, dass man in so einem Kneipe richtige Orkish hören würde..."
I am pretty sure that's correct, but my German is rusty. Anyways, I think I said "What luck! I would never have guessed that you would hear real Orcish in a bar like this." |

It feels odd for my character that Orcish is German since she is German and dose not know Orcish. She knows Common and Elven; so it must be that Elven German or whatever.
![]() But ya being mute is making it hard right now but i got a few ideas ill try very soon. Its the only reason I haven't posted more.

Nah, Orcish isn't German. Orcish is the racial language of the Orcs, a number of whom just happen to live there.
Each race holds its native tongue, Orcs have Orcish, Elfs speak Elfen, but each nation has its own preferred language, English for England, Spanish in Spain, etc. Racial languages are rarely spoken in public, and some fear they may become dead languages one day, like latin.

then for languages i know should i list English and German instead of common, and would that mean i would have to drop Elven or spend skill points for more languages if i wanted Elven?

Aww, I was hoping Orcish was German, so that instead of just making up stuff I would actually say stuff. Oh well, so German is German, Orcish is Orcish. I would think Helid would use Orcish more than German, seeing as how he's from a small tribe. Also, since I have a negative Intelligence modifier, does that mean that I only speak Orcish and German and not English?

Yes, but keep your Elven, even if you can understand the language, you can't speak it anyway
![]() For the sake of simplicity, speak English regardless. Europeans have ALWAYS been good at being multi-lingual, and the British empire put down roots everywhere, so it should be an exception to the 1 pr int mod rule ![]()
