"I still say they're likely to come to us if we make a big enough moosepyre, but Mihai is right, I'd rather not kill the buggers. Even if we can't reason with them, I'd rather just give 'em a hideous beating." He helps drag some more wood onto the pile. "What do you guys think? Will that do it?"

"Yes. It looks magnificent. Now if only we had some of those fireworks to light it with." Skieyl makes no effort to hide his love for the little explosions, if only because everyone around him realized that it was a bad idea to ever let him have any. He's feeling pangs of longing for that which he has Long Been Denied.

Reon pats him on the shoulder. "It's ok, man. One way or another I'll make sure you get some fireworks. But if anybody asks, Sayuri gave them to you."

"Do hyu know a theeng about goblinks?" Morgard looked at Reon and the others incrediculously, "Hand hyu leev ink Shandpoint? Deedent a goblink break in like, three years ago, und eet someone's beby?"

"Didn't Jervas Stoot murder dozens of people and mutilate the bodies?" Mihai replies mildly. "Last I checked, that didn't make it necessary kill every human who tries their hand at thieving. These goblins haven't killed anyone yet."
He gives Morgard a friendly pat on the back. "Don't worry, Morgard. If I know goblins, they'll try to kill us for looking at them wrong, and then you can kill them to your heart's content. But we're the good guys; that means we don't start the killing. That makes us bad guys, you see?"

"Yeah, I'm not suggesting a tea party here. I met one one a way outside town a couple of months back. Think he was lost. Things had to escalate from 'Shoo' to the hideous beating pretty damn quick, but that seemed to get the message across."
Reon stares contemplatively at the moose, pondering the nature of evil. "But you're right, of course. If they're feeling brave, we'll most probably have to kill them."

"Not sure I've ever read of goblins being brave." Sayruri observes as she kindles the moose pyre. "Vicious enough to overcome their cowardice, but not brave. Of course, none of those books were written by goblins, so the story is rather one-sided. Everything that can think deserves a reasonable chance." She asserts somewhat impatiently. She never can understand how people can fail to see ethics the same way she does. "There." She steps back from the fire, a satisfied expression on her face. "It should be burning nicely in moments."

Reon scratches his head while he watches the fire. Everything that can think, huh? That's goblins out, if they're within a hundred feet of something explosive. What if they're charging you with one of those hook things?"

"Then they just used up their chance." Sayuri explains with an impatient toss of her head that sends a hairpin flying. Minx curls his tail around her neck like a thin furry scarf. "C'mon Reon, you're a paladin, you're supposed to -know- this stuff. Don't they make you take a test or something before they pass out that shiny armor? I know they gave Spooky one, or tried. They ended up being the ones that failed it." She smirks in a manner which suggests mischief well-satisfied.

Smooth as blinking, Mihai reaches up and catches the hairpin in a gloved hand, then hands it back to Sayuri. When she references the tiff he had with the Elders of his Order, he smiles fondly at the memory. "Ahh, good times. Yelling at those closed-minded old codgers is always good fun, though one should always remember to bring a hand towel. They tend to spit when upset. Like llamas."

Reon warms his hands over the growing fire. "I like llamas. If you need a trowel, you're probably using them wrong." He turns his head back to Sayuri. "I don't need anybody's opinion to do what I do. I'm just so holy I can barely contain it, so I channel it into useful things. Yesterday I turned water into wine, but unfortunately I had to drink the evidence."

"That explains a lot. How much did you transform, a whole horse trough full?" Sayuri slings back, enjoying herself. She takes the hairpin and jams it back into her hair, seemingly at random. It certainly doesn't seem to add to the neatness or security of her hairstyle. "Not that I don't approve. Much better to rely on your own judgement than on that of a group of old fogies pooling their collective ignorance." Sayuri sniffs, recalling Mihai's superiors.

The paladin shrugs. "I seem to remember it was a pond. I dunno which one. That's the trouble with being perfect; there's so much to think about. You're right though, those kind of people are just there to make things complicated. I'm all for the wisdom of the elderly, but only if I get to decide which old people are wise and which are senile."

Once the moose had properly caught, Morgard reaches down, and despite the surprised remarks from the others, picks it up once more.
"Hokay, hyu vanted to seenk the moose? I theenk ve should go fint some place to seenk the moose." Despite it being on fire on one side, and covered with mud on the other, Morgard seemed not to have any concerns once again hefting the flaming thing into the air with one hand, waiting for the others to decide which direction would be a better river to sink it in.

Reon nods his appreciation at the feat and stands up to follow. "Very nice. You realise this means Sayuri has to dance widdershins around you while you walk, right? This should be good."
