Plot SummaryHere is your chance to join Starfleet! Are you seeking new experiences and adventure? Look no further! We are looking to recruit new crew members for a brand new starship which will be launched in the near future.

The game will play out in interwoven episodes so that there is a chance for new adventures with the same crew. There is a massive emphasis on character development and an open game experience.

Positions available (if you want a position that's not listed just state the position in your app, this isn't a set in stone list):
Captain: The Captain has ultimate authority over the unit, and is usually given wide latitude to run the unit as he/she sees fit, within the bounds of Federation laws and Starfleet rules and regulations. In this respect, captains have significant responsibilities, duties and powers. The captain is responsible for seeing that all missions assigned to his/her unit are carried out. He/she is the chief representative of Starfleet Command to all visiting dignitaries and while on first-contact missions. At social functions, the captain acts as the unit's host, and he presides at all ceremonies.
Medical Officer: The medical officer is a senior staff position and is responsible for the maintenance of a crew's health and fitness. In a Starfleet unit, the officer also serves as chief surgeon. The chief medical officer maintains and operates medical facilities of starships, stations, and planetary posts. The medical staff, including all medical officers and counselors, are overseen by the chief medical officer.
Engineering Officer: The Engineering Officer is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all systems of starships or stations. This includes pre-scheduled preventative maintenance, system upgrades and repairs to correct malfunctioning or damaged systems. The SCE is easily the most demanding officer posting aboard a starship or space station next to the commanding officer, because the chief engineering officer's responsibility is virtually every part of the ship or station, with the exception of the crew.
Science Officer: The science officer has the responsibility of coordinating the science department of the post. The officer serves as the advisor to the command staff regarding questions of science, such as spatial phenomenon and unknown energy forces. The chief science officer presides over all science missions performed by the starship and all projects aboard starships. Science officers, including visiting science teams, of the starship operate under the chief science officer. The officer coordinates with the chief medical officer when confronted with new lifeforms and biological phenomena.
Tactical Officer: The tactical officer oversees the operation of all ship- and station-based weapons systems. The officer's duties are to maintain battle readiness of the ship and crew, including the team of tactical officers.

Personality: Sartak, being of two halves, finds it hard to fit in anywhere, unless it is to in the bowls of an engine, or designing a new prototype Ship design. He smiles, which puts Vulcans at a distance, but his stiff manner in speaking and applying himself puts off most humans.

Background/History: Sartak was born on Earth, but was raised on both Vulcan and Earth. He excelled at his early schooling, possibly due to his mixed heritage. He studied the histories of both his peoples. He enjoys it, but finds learning about the history of travel much more interesting. He studied the designs of early ships of Earth and Vulcan, and finds the D'Kyr a particularly intriguing design, as well as the newer designs of Star Fleet's exploration ships.

When he was 17, he began a long list on things he wanted to do with his life. His father, Gideon Karnas, a Star Fleet engineer, encouraged him to pursue any of his choices, as long as he was happy. His mother, T'par, made him see the logic behind picking a career that was both rewarding and stable. He joined Star Fleet, and majored in Engineering. Graduating in the top 5% of his class, he is currently waiting for his assignment.

So for background purposes what eve ts can we assume have happened? Relative to such things as the Dominion war, Nemesis, etc?

Personality: There’s a running joke among the joined Trill that the Paix symbiont is “Lucky”. He does seem to know it, the merging of his personality with previous hosts have made him more of a risk taker. Willing to bend rules a bit for a good cause, Narvan went to medical school before joining but after he decided to go into Starfleet because he’s come to the conclusion that he’s played things too safe. Time to really make a difference.

Background/History: The story of a Joined Trill is two stories in one, the Host and the Symbiont. Narvan will tell you that there was no real traumatic event or past horror that got him into medicine, he just always wanted to help people. This crystallized into an interest in medicine when a nearby Federation world had an epidemic and Starfleet asked for volunteers. A lot of Trill went as they were naturally incompatible with the disease anyway. Studying both for Medical School and as an Initiate was a challenge of course but one he expected. His Joining procedure was about a month before he would officially begin actual Medical School, and to everyone's surprised the first thing he did when he regained consciousness after the surgury was transfer to Starfleet Medical.

The Symbiont Paix is jokingly considered 'Lucky' by other Trill. Mostly in that it's nearing it's 300th birthday and it's only on it's 6th host instead of the normal 7th or 8th. Some of that from being fairly cautious in it's early lives, some of that from seeming miraculous escapes from death. Narvan is the 6th host of the Paix symbiont, and only the second male host. There were jokes in medical school that he'd sometimes forget he was male as he got used to the symbiosis, which he took in stride. Because, let's be honest, he thought it was genuinely kind of funny.

Yirull, Jaulu, Uzra, Husa, and Ruebae. A Career Diplomat, an Athlete, a Politician, an Architect, and a Thief respectively. Yirull, Jaulu, and Husa were also Wives and Mothers and Grandmothers, Uzra a Groom and a Father. Ruebae also had her fair share of lovers and considered having children but decided against it. Ruebae obviously the most controversial of Navran's past lives as at one point she was considered a strong contender for the best Thief in the Galaxy, it's commonly believed that Ruebae only managed to keep from getting the Paix symbiont exiled thanks to her crimes never reaching Murder and usually having a Robin Hood angle as the humans would say.

A Joined Trill finding the joining making their careers better isn't a surprise, that it worked so well is. Before the joining Navran was going to be an excellent if by-the-book Doctor. Now he has the ability to go beyond the pages of medical texts, to think laterally and solve puzzles. Not to mention you'd be amazed how handy the skills of a master criminal are when it comes to dealing with regulations and paperwork are, or at least getting past them. He probably could have been the Validictorian of his class if concentrated on that, instead he decided to be satisfied with being in the top 10% so he could have some time to explore Earth and other nearby worlds on time off. Now in Starfleet the Paix symbiont doesn't really play things safe anymore. Funny how it took being a criminal for a lifetime is what it took for him to live a little.

And, who knows, it might be just what the mission needs.

The year the story will start is 2371, just after the events of TNG and before the Enterprise E is launched. This is set a couple of years before the Dominion War and Nemesis.

Personality:
Nia is typically friendly and outgoing, almost to a fault. Exuberant and bubbly are words often used to describe her, though her erratic personality hides a deceptively keen intellect. She can go from talking about gossip or the latest holo-novel to an in-depth discussion of botanical genetics and back again over the course of a few sentences without missing a beat, though what outwardly seems like a lack of focus can grate on the nerves of those who don't know her. Like most Orions Nia is fun-loving and a bit of a hedonist, enjoying the exploration offered by Starfleet more than the actual duties involved. It isn't that she's lazy or a slacker, she just sees Starfleet as a means to an end rather than its own goal, unlike many duty and career-minded officers. Nia is very quick to volunteer for away missions, as being cooped up on a ship makes her a bit antsy and she would much rather be in a natural setting. The botanical bay and holodeck are just no substitute for the real thing. Fortunately her area of expertise often makes her a valuable crew member when exploring alien worlds. Although specialized in botany Nia has a broad range of scientific knowledge and is quick to adapt to new situations. Though relatively inexperienced she's a quick thinker with a cool head who doesn't get rattled easily.

Background:
Nia has no memory of her parents or early life, nor any records of the same to call upon. She was found years ago on the wreckage of a freighter by a Ferengi salvager who thought the vessel abandoned until he set about his salvage operations. Nia was found in a stasis capsule along with a half dozen or so other young Orion but hers was the only capsule still functioning, the other Orion had perished when their stasis capsules lost power. The erased logs and unrecorded cargo manifest led the Ferengi to believe the freighter was a slave ship but he couldn't find out any details during his rudimentary search. A skilled forensics crew likely could have, but the Ferengi was more interested in turning a profit than uncovering a mystery. As it was the Ferengi did not want to get involved with any slave trade, but he did understand the value of the good will he would receive by rescuing the young Orion girl. He considered returning her to Orion, as it represented the greatest potential for reward, but after considering the trouble of finding the right people to present her to, the suspicious nature of the ship, and the possibility of attracting too much unwanted attention he cited the Rate divided by time equals profit.fifty-fourth and Risk doesn't always equal reward.sixty-eighth Rules of Acquisition and went with his second, less profitable but much more convenient, option. The Ferengi took her to Terok Nor, a Cardassian space station that he would use to fence some of his salvage, after paying the appropriate fees to the station manager of course.

The Ferrengi, Qarog, asked the station manager about a reward but was dismissed when the manager said the girl was of no use or value. Though after some persistent pestering the station manager agreed to give Qarog a voucher for a free meal on the promenade, if only to be rid of him. Naturally Qarog ordered the most expensive meal he could find, even though he didn't like the taste. It was the principle of the thing after all - "If something is free, take all of it". It wasn't an official Rule of Acquisition, but it should be, Qarog told himself. He planned to submit it to the Grand Nagus if he ever had the opportunity. As for the girl, station chief Gul Dukat had no interest in trying to find out where she came from or to return her to Orion. He ordered his newly-appointed chief of security Odo to have her checked out by the medical staff and then do something with her, considering the matter closed. The medical exam showed that while the stasis pod that she was in kept her alive, a malfunction in the brainwave monitoring software had scrambled her memories. She may regain them someday, or she may not. The Cardassian doctor didn't seem too interested either way. Sympathetic to the Bajoran people on the station, Odo brought her to a childless Bajoran couple who operated a restaurant on the promenade. They had no one to care for and she had no one to care for her. It was a logical match, he explained. He didn't need to say more, the couple, who had been unable to have children of their own, adopted the Orion girl.

Nia was raised by the Bajoran couple, though she never took to their spiritual beliefs. She worked in the restaurant and spent a lot of time in the family's garden but always had her eyes on the stars. Part of it was wondering about home, but part of it was just a desire to see the rest of the galaxy. Unknown to her parents, Nia also participated in a number of covert operations against the occupying Cardassians, mostly in the realm of intelligence gathering as a number of the male Cardassian officers were rather loose-lipped around her. When her parents became aware of her association with the Bajoran resistance they called in some favors to forward an application to Starfleet Academy, which was accepted. Nia studied science with a specialization in exobotany, though her experience with the Bajoran resistance caught the interest of Starfleet security and tactical trainers once Terok Nor was liberated and renamed Deep Space Nine. She has recently graduated from the Academy, and was visiting her adoptive family on Deep Space Nine when she got her first assignment, an assignment she is looking forward to.

Name: Sexn Rozar

Race: Bajoran/Betazoid

Planet of Birth/Origin: Unknown. Most likely Salva II, though only has memories of Marva IV

Physical Description: Sexn is beautiful like her mother, but lean and lanky like her father was. Her Bajoran nose is less pronounced than those of a pure bred Bajoran, but is definitely noticeable. She has long hair that looks Auburn tinted when in brighter lights. Her right eye's iris is black like her Betazoid mother and her left eye is green. Off Duty, she dresses herself in her own style that sometimes looks Bajoran, but there's always that hint or allure of sexuality that comes from being part Betazoid.

Personality: Sexn is mostly an adrenaline junkie, and loves the thrill of the chase, nice things, and laughter. She's loyal to a fault, sees good and bad as black and white, but from a freedom loving perspective most of the time. When taking on a job or task, she'll see it through to the end. She takes an oath or "her word" as an unbreakable thing. Sexn isn't modest all at when it comes to nudity or revealing attire. She doesn't comprehend how it could be offensive to anyone, though she understands the concept that others have. If in a romantic relationship, she is extremely private with her affections on the other hand. She's something of a scout and "collector", or both, of items and information. She's learns quickly, and can be a dangerous foe in hand to hand or melee combat. She's not a bad shot with a phaser either. She's got the Betazoid Empath tendencies, though only her mother knows she can only converse with her, and the rest... well, it's scattered so much to be practically nonexistent. She simply says, "I didn't get that gene."

Starfleet Experience: Sexn was in and out of the resistance on the occupied Bajor (when she could get away from her parents who were also resistance) from her preteen years until she turned 16. It was the death of her father that had a huge impact on the young Sexn, and had her looking for something more. Her mother moved away from the conflict with assistance, and the young Sexn entered the Starfleet academy at 16 with sponsorship from A Federation Officer whose identity remains sealed to this day. After the Academy she worked at Starfleet HQ for a year on special duties and assignments which remain classified. She took an assignment to Starbase for 3 years, going on short jaunts to nearby systems on Science missions.
She was then assigned to a new Nova class ship, the USS Adelaide, a science vessel exploring all manner of new scientific discoveries and such. After serving for 2 years, she was promoted to Tactical officer, and remained there for 2 more years. When it docked in late 2366 at a starbase shipyard for refit and upgrades, the Captain was moved to a larger ship. She asked around if she would be considered for First Officer, and got the vibe it was too early in her career, so she found an appointment to the Endeavour as a Tactical officer, actually seen as a step in in her career due to the ship's size.
The ship was at the Battle of Wolf 359 where she almost died of internal injuries sustained. She was decorated for bravery and wounds sustained. She served for another year after helping with repairs on the ship.
She then took an assignment on the newly refitted Nova Class USS Nagoya, a science and Scout ship, as its first officer. She has served there until her new assignment aboard the ship _______.

Background/History: With a Betazoid first name, a surname of Bajoran, and having a Maquis tattoo on her back left shoulder, Sexn is a walking dichotomy. Her Bajoran father was married to her Betazoid mother while the two of them were laboring feverishly for a political and less violent solution to the chaos that was the Cardassian Occupation. Swept up in the chaos, they soon chose the side of infiltrators and agents, bringing a young daughter along with them and their ideals. Widowed when Sexn was just a preteen instilled in Sexn's mother a desire to see the cause to its end, despite being moved around more times than she would care to remember. Her mother was an asset to the cause, using her Betazoid empathic abilities to aid those in need. Her mother did have a price on her head for a while. Recently pardoned, she works as a consultant of sorts, she still works the political realm of the worlds and peoples living in what is now the embattled DMZ.
Once her father died, and her mother fled those many years ago, it changed the young woman forever, and she is a diehard and devout member of the Federation. She still seeks adventure and the "fight still left in her" as her mother refers to it.

Also, open to the idea of past interactions of characters. Just keep in mind that as of right now my male doctor was a female thief six or seven years ago.

Me too, but I am determined to change that. This is the only game I am currently DM'ing so I can focus all my attention on it.



Loving the applications so far though, great job! Hopefully the game will get put through soon so I can start building it. And don't worry about skimpy applications, I'm aiming towards character development so you will have a chance to flesh out your character within the game.

As for the ship, I want you all to be happy with the choice of spaceframe. And the name I was toying with the name USS Semperfortis. It's latin. Let me know what you all think.
