HarpyBane raised a good question with me; for the purposes of Favored Terrain, Wildspace/Phlogiston is a legitimate choice.
Now for some secrets: Oh also, Allu: the spacefarer feat isn't taken like normal feats - if you have a Spacing background you get it for free, or if you're a Groundling, you get to pick it up for free after gaining a level's worth of experience in space. So you don't need to worry about choosing it over another feat. Last edited by Diapadion; Feb 21st, 2012 at 12:36 PM. Reason: more |

So interested. Expect to see my application soon - by PM, as you request.
I've never played spelljammer, so it's exciting to try it out. Meanwhile, could I get a heads up what the stats would be like on a Grommam?

Actually, (and I changed this in the original post just now) you can PM me the info or hide it behind a secret tag - I wasn't fully aware of the power of that tag when I made the original post.
Grommam would be Males: +4 STR, -2 INT, Females: +2 STR, +2 WIS, -2 INT, plus a racial perception bonus, Ambidexterity, and maybe a couple of other mods. Spelljammer has this tendency to cryptically include notable sci-fi races from other literature - for instance, the Arcane are really the Guild from Dune. I've thought about the Grommam kind of as Wookiees, except slightly more gorilla-like. |

Note that moderators (anyone with a red name) plus DMs in their own game folders (not in this thread) can read anything inside a secret tag, no matter who it is to or from. Not that we'd use it against anyone. But just so you know.

Good to know. Still, without precise info on the abilities, I'll hold off on actually building the character sheet until I know if I'm accepted.

Definitely thinking Vishkanya Sorcerer with the Serpentine Bloodline... Possibly envenomed but probably not.
Not sure whether she'll be a groundling, or spacefarer... debating

Quick question for everyone: does anyone feel like switching their character gender to female? I wasn't expecting an even ratio, but its rather imbalanced right now, so if you don't think it would kill your concept, give it a little thought.
Secret secret: For everyone who's got a full app to me - thanks, I'll be doing a lot of considering in the next few days. Backgrounds are going to need to be slightly modified (which I'd planned on), but you've all laid solid foundations. If I didn't leave any comments, you're golden right now. Ah, and thanks for the pointer on Secret'ed boxes, Birched, that makes perfect sense. Fortunately, I don't lose a lot of mental energy getting paranoid about metagaming! |

I'm still kinda interested in the Dracon thing, but I definitely need more info on 'em to help with roleplayin' 'em, as well as figurin' my class.

Well, switching out genders could work for me, but I think it'd ruin my co-applicant's prose a little.
"It's a story about a boy" doesn't sound as poetic.

I as well could switch. I was actually going to play a female character until I realized that my last few have been female as well. It isn't a huge deal for me.

Yeah, making Ipappu a female would definitely make the most sense of the two.
