Descriptor, Type, and Focus: A Vigilant Assassin (Warrior with a Stealth Flavor) who Moves Like the Wind Appearance: Griffin is about average height with dark brown hair, typically styled in an undercut. He has piercing green eyes that have two modes: dart around assessing at everything or very focused and intently at one thing. He's around 23 years old. Griffon typically wears a dark blue suit, open in the front, over a white button-up with a black tie. Personality: With most people, Griffon maintains a stoic and business-focused attitude. Those who manage to get past his thick emotional walls will find that behind them he is someone who cares deeply about a great many things. Backstory: Griffon's an up-and-coming killer for hire in the underworld scene. He had a rough upbringing that he doesn't like to go into, but he's lost a lot of people that he's cared for and has trouble trusting. Forced to fend for himself from a young age, he quickly developed a particular set of skills and a flexible moral compass. He's recently been working his way into becoming an assassin for a secretive organization, and he thinks that this whole thing might just be another one of their tests. |

Okay, let's assume your competitor was a beloved teacher you had, who treated you like family, and skip round 1. Just put how you handled it in secret, whether you won or lost, with as much information as I can squeeze out of you. Because I thought about how boring round 1 could be.

Are we starting to play in here? Or is this for more of the app?

Should the PCs win or lose their rounds? How is the money given to the contestants? When you say “everything is legal”, does that just mean the Gamemasters will let the competitors get away with anything or is it actually all legal within general society? We are not given the name of our Round 1 competitor of from the Gamemasters, correct?

This is more of the app. Think of it as the RP Sample.
PCs can win or lose, either way, in round 1. Everything is legal. The Gamemasters have a lot of sway. You are given the name and location. They are also given your name and location. Last edited by Ermine; Mar 5th, 2023 at 05:30 AM. |

Griffin was surprised that his target mentor was the mentor he had had when getting started as an assassin (not all that long ago.) The surprise is what cost him, allowing the opponent to get a gun to his head and threaten Griffon for the money. Griffon lost that round, but determined not to make the same mistakes again.

I'll probably revisit this in a different system, like 5e, to get more people. But as it is, I don't think this got enough interest. I think I'll drop this one, just for now.

Ah. Sucks but understandable. I was working on my story thing. You could also try a PbtA that’s based in modern day or something. Those games also seem to get a lot of interest.
Well, keep trying and good luck! |
