Interested no matter the answers to the questions below
Are we all playing summoner class with free Archetype or are we all playing whatever class we want with the Summoner Archetype ? or is it even play whatever you want if you play a non summoner get summoner Archetype or vise versa a non summoner gets summoner Archetype for free ? And one last question for this post - does the free archetype stop us from taking a regular Archetype ?

Playing the summoner class with a free archetype.
It only stops you from taking regular archetypes because of the limit presented in the dedication: You have to have 2 more feats from the archetype other than the dedication before you take another. If you stick to just one archetype for your free ones, you'd be able to take another at 8th level with your regular ones. If that makes sense? Edit: actually, you'd be able to take it at 6th level. I'm not very proficient with Pathfinder 2e and I find that the text is a bit ambiguous for a concept I had in mind, so my question is: is the item restriction (Eidolon trait) only relative to magic items? Is an Eidolon otherwise free to use mundane items?

I think this may help - Some eidolons' unarmed attacks might look like swords, clubs, or other weapons, even though they are extensions of the eidolon's form. Your choice of unarmed attack determines its damage type— bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing, as appropriate. From the full rules on Eidolons

Thank you, but I was wondering more about tools and the like. Since Eidolons can seemingly get skill feats later on, I had the idea of a field medic that could double up on healing with his Eidolon, assuming the latter can use healer's tools.

DM would always have final say but I don't think so only finding 4 items that have the trait that lets them use it -

I am brand spanking new to PF. Will this game be friendly to newcomers such as myself?

The game can be newbie friendly, yes.
I do not currently have a deadline in mind. When I feel like there are enough applications to do so, I'll set one. Hopefully that happens sooner rather than later. |

This is certainly an interesting game world. Everyone has summoning powers.
Name: Oma the Brown Race: Skilled Human Main summoner class: Beast/primal summoner. Eideolon type and appearance: Nimble beast; resembles a goat made of earth and clay. Claims not to have a name in the way humans do. Seems to be hiding something.... Free Archetype: Rogue muti-class Mechanical Background: Envoy variant. He is a minor messenger employed by merchants. Appearance: Small with dark brown eyes, skin, and hair. Wears brown leather clothing (functions as leather armor in combat.) Combat Style: Snipes with a short bow from range or uses his eidolon in melee. Saves most of his magic for healing. Other abilities. Will gain assurance (nature) and natural medicine for out-of-combat healing. Personality: Quiet and withdrawn. Easily overlooked. Background: Ramyasthana is where he was born and raised, and where he wants to live out his life. He has had a rather dull life until a strange beast of clay and stone appeared before him and offered him a deal. It would bind his soul to its own, linking their existence in this life and the next. It seemed to be better than risking the Ghods playing dice with devils for his soul. Upon death, he will become an elemental being in the plane of earth. Until then, he serves the city, using the power the beast gives him to heal and protect. He does not seek glory, but only a city where he can live in peace. Other notes: Will probably focus on defensive feats. Is unlikely to ever learn to wield the Eyes of the World himself. Alignment: Neutral, with good tendencies. People/Contacts: His family is rather large, and they all work at various shops and merchant stalls, running goods in and out of the shops for the various merchants. They have no desire to own their own shops, as doing so entails great risk. Live simply and don't stick your neck out is a principle he learned early on. He also knows several of the merchants, the most memorable of whom is Protesting Artu. His name comes from the fact that he obeys almost any order given to him, under protest. Main goal: Keep the city safe, while staying safe himself. Secondary goal: Discover the truth of where the water comes from. Last edited by Ericg1s; Mar 20th, 2023 at 05:35 PM. |
