I'll second Mitsubachi. If I knew a little more about the Doctor's skills, I'll be able to build Frankie into a better fit for the group. Obviously I still have to write you a little sample, but the character sheet would be next. And I'd want to make sure I'm not claiming she's capable of things I don't have points for.

Status - Friendly. September 1995 - During night maneuvers in rural Washington near the Canadian border, Kemeny's platoon observed what appeared to be a meteorite land in a nearby field. Kemeny's platoon leader took his troops to investigate it, and wanted to enter the pit to see the strange glowing rock for himself. Kemeny and the other team leaders protested, but they were overruled by the higher ranking soldier - instead they were told to form security around the pit while the curious sergeant climbed down. Kemeny watched in horror as the soldier touched the strange glowing rock who promptly exploded like a water balloon full of spaghetti sauce. The troops were shocked and wanted to run, but Kemeny knew they had to secure this and get someone to take custody of this dangerous item. Kemeny radioed in their position and used a key word that sounded as if they were taking to ground for the night, but really indicated to command that they had found something of national interest. For a few hours they held their position until a black Jeep and a black armored truck made their way to their position. Wordlessly, men in hazmat suits exited the truck and using strange mechanical devices and a titanium box managed to retrieve the rock, which was promptly loaded up and driven out of there. The driver of the Jeep, a stern looking black man with wire rim glasses who introduced himself as "Mr. Green", commended the young Specialist Kemeny for his foresight and caution, saying that his company could use a man like him someday. Writing Sample: Dozens of men stood in their PT gear, arms behind their backs, heads freshly shaved, sweat trickling down their foreheads in the early Georgia heat. It was hot already, and it was only going to get hotter. And Kemeny wasn't talking about the temperature. As he paced in front of the first rank of potential Rangers, his arms crossed behind his back, Kemeny says nothing at first. He only glares at each one individually from underneath his black ballcap signifying that he is a Ranger cadre. What the soldiers don't know is each instructor has their role to play in this selection course. Kemeny enjoys his in particular. He is the heavy - his job is to push these men to their breaking point and beyond, to see where their true character lies. Every man here is fit and strong - if that's all it took to be a Ranger, they wouldn't even need a selection course. But Kemeny knows this isn't enough - he needs to see these men at their weakest, to see if they will keep doing the right thing even when exhausted and hungry and tired and wet. To keep working together as a team when things got downright uncomfortable. Because that's what combat will be, and these men will be fighting alongside Kemeny someday. He needs to make sure they measure up. "Gentlemen!" he booms out loud in his Louisiana drawl, "Mah name is Staff Sergeant Kemeny. Welcome to Day 1 of the Ranger Indoctrination Program. I will be the primary instructor of this morning's evolution. Squad leader!" "Yes, Cadre!" shouts the young soldier from the first rank, newly appointed by the previous sergeant who had just introduced himself. "What's yah total count?" he asks, not taking his eyes off of the scared looking young soldier in the second rank, knowing full well he is intimidating him. "54, Cadre!" shouts the young man, announcing the total count of troops in front of Kemeny. "54 potential Rangers here today. Well, I got news for yah - not all of yah are gonna be Rangers. By my count, probably not even half of yahs. Who all thinks that they're going to become a Ranger here?" A thunderous boom of "HOOAH, CADRE!" by all the soldiers in formation state that they all believe they will pass the training. For the first time, Kemeny smiles. And it is not a nice one. "We're gonna see about that here today. Yah see, there's 54 of you, but I only have bunks for 45. Which means 9 of yah aren't going to be hitting the rack with us tonight. And since every single one of yah seems convinced they're going to pass, well, we may need a bit of a... screening process." Calling them to attention, he then shouts "ON YAH BACKS!", watching as each soldier immediately hits the deck and lies on their back. "FEET SIX INCHES OFF THE GROUND!" he barks again, and every soldier tucks their hands behind their back as they raise their feet six inches off the ground. "Now here's how this here process is gonna work," says Kemeny in a loud and authoritative tone, walking around the troops to ensure they are keeping their feet in the air and seemingly oblivious to those already straining to hold the position as he slowly walks around them. "Let's keep it simple for yah, because I like simple. Yah'll are gonna do flutter kicks at my count. If I see yah feet touch the ground, yah Ranger career has ended before it begun. Do I make myself clear?" "YES, CADRE!" shout the troops, although a little less loudly than before. Some of them are already straining, Kemeny thinks to himself. Let's see how dedicated they truly are to the task at hand. "Stand by!" Kemeny shouts, then he begins the cadence. "1! 2! 3!" and letting the soldiers yell out the count of each repetition. As he stalks around, he keeps a sharp eye out for slackers and those who can't keep up. Any violators, he simply points at them and another Ranger cadre swoops in to give them some special attention. Now truly smiling for the first time, Kemeny is curious to see how many will last. (Later) Knocking on the door, Kemeny hears the permission to enter and he reports to the company commander of this training cycle. "Good morning Sergeant," says the hard looking Major with thick rimmed glasses. "How did the morning's evolution go?" "Good morning, sah!" says Kemeny with a smile on his face. "We got our 9. Took almost 600 flutter kicks to get 'em, tough group out there. Schueler, Johnson and I then took them for a good run and made them hit the pull up bar hot and heavy for a while before chow. Provided no injuries, 45 should be ready for the first school house training." "Good work, Sergeant!" says the Major with a wide smile. "I'll let you have another crack at them after the classroom work. I'm sure a few of them will be bobbing heads in there once the slideshow gets going. Some corrective action after will be needed." With a devious grin, Kemeny snaps out a crisp salute and replies "Absolutely, sah! I'll make sure they stay more focused for the next one."

A corpsman would still be a huge benefit due to the medical training, I think. It looks like most PCs will be military or feds with some exceptions based off of the Need to Know.

Maryland State University (Dropped Out). Analysis of Subject Transcript does show a possible moderate talent for Mathematics, but no work ethic. Work: No Long-Term Employment. Subject does occasionally do freelance gigs for 'Clever Zebra Studios', a small independent video game production studio. To solve this puzzle on one's first attempt one has to be able to map a Tesseract inside a 4-Dimensional Sphere. To solve the puzzle in 37 seconds Subject Bennett either got *insanely* Lucky, like Trillions-to-1 Odds, or he would have to actually do the Math in his head - instinctively." "Okay, maybe he did get lucky." "We thought of that. So we subtly got him a copy of 'Heroes of Wonder', where he also solved 'The Mana Trap' Puzzle in under 4 seconds. One of the veteran players already involved is a Doctor. More thinky-medical than hands-on-medical, perhaps, but the skillset is there. So I'm just toying with more ideas. Too many ideas, frankly.

Hey all: Great apps! With that said I'm going to cut off new apps this weekend.

I've pushed Frankie toward HUMINT and some Psychotherapy. She's the on-call nurse type, who can look at someone and categorize injuries, then hand them off to the doctor to do what needs to be done. Probably does the people-managing so the high-INT docs can stick to what they do best. And she's a Navy corpsman, so she's been through some basic training with weapons and military science. I've added a sheet link; feel free to let me know if you think I'm stepping on your toes. If she does less with her medicine during the game that's fine, I don't mind taking her more in the problem-solving direction.

EDIT: Begon Ugo, is the standard array stats the plan, or should I be rolling later?
