I mean, as I said on the BiNG thread itself, I would never force you to take a character you didn't like, whether we were doing point buy or 3d6 in order or whatever rolling system. I won't stop you from withdrawing if you're absolutely sure, but the option to reroll is available to you because two 3's and a 2 in your dedicated slot is rough, and again I wouldn't make you play a character you don't like.

Same goes for everyone. I do feel I have to reiterate this, but I WON'T MAKE YOU PLAY A CHARACTER YOU DON'T LIKE! If you roll garbage or you roll really low for the stat you wanted to be your main, just talk to me and we'll sort something out.

I'm pitching Lentil Sponge on one or two possible rulings that might balance things a bit for unlucky starting-dice players. Waiting to see what's allowed, but hoping for a ruling that achieves leveling. Our rolls seem to run from 27 to 33.

So, granted by the DM, a roll of 5 instead of the back-to-back snake-eyes.

I'll continue the buildout / rewrite based on what the dice have said.

Im happy to see what if any ruling changes that will be allowed. Id be happier with a higher Int for the concept but overall I'm happy enough it nothing changes. Had a couple of rolls alot lower than id have liked but luckily in physical stats mostly so i can work with them, be interesting for sure

He is however a bit rash, and is poorly educated and lacking in wit. Finrod Dawnbringer Attributes, Strength 11 Dexterity 20 Constitution 11 Intelligence 7 Wisdom 8 Charisma 19 Alignment: Lawful Neutral Class: Ninja Race: Half-Elf Traits: Elven Reflexes(+2 to initiative); Law Enforcer (+2 Sense Motive + MW Manacles); Drawback: Bitter (-1 healing due to previous hurt) Reason for Arrival: Reformed Mercenary Benefit: You must be a follower of The Church of the Three Sisters. You begin with +250gp. Description Finrod is an unremarkable individual. Tall and slim, he moves with the gait of a predator and has the gaze to match. His blue eyes seem to notice any movement around him, but show little interest unless there is food, or a threat, in view. He wears clothes similar to those of most armsmen, and passes easily for a simple warrior. Personality: Finrod is a strange person in that he has almost no friends and apparently cares for no-one, but is well liked and popular. Since his family disowned him, and his chosen trade has meant constant change of companions, he has learned to watch and listen, avoid conversation and be a lone wolf. He is entirely happy with his own company and feels little need for friendship or romance. An assassin, with good social skills, and the amoral nature of a predator, Finrod will never be a leader of men, but he will be a useful weapon to one who is. Finrod likes order. He likes to know what he is expected to do, by when and with what. Improvisation is something he can do, but it makes him uncomfortable. He prefers to plan properly and to not have to rely too much on others to make that plan succeed. If you want it done right, do it yourself is a maxim he never says, but always thinks. History: Finrod is in Julianople, and thus The Dead Mermaid Casino, because he is seeking work after his latest contract ended after he was seriously wounded. He has been brought to the casino by an old comrade, and has become aware that there is a need for people to escort a chest across town. 23 years ago, Finrod was raised in the northern forests by his elven father, a powerful middle-aged wizard, and human mother, a very beautiful bard. His childhood was idyllic at home as his mother protected him from his elven kin. As a young child, Finrod grew up in the forests around his home ending up with a fascination for wildlife and for drawing plants and animals. At the age of ten, his father sent him to the Sparking Stars Wizard School to learn the family trade and everything changed. Despite his father being the Guildmaster of the Sparking Stars Wizard Guild, he was bullied mercilessly by the scholars and staff alike because of his difference from them. He survived by becoming withdrawn and learning to be present, but not visible. He had no aptitude, or interest, in his studies which made things even worse as it gave them a reason to mock him even more. When his mother died, when he was 15, giving birth to his little sister, he and his father argued. Finrod accused his father of using his mother as a breeding machine and of never loving her, and stormed from his parents home. Leaving the forest, he joined the warband of a local noble, and was trained trained as a bodyguard and, once his ability to dissemble and hide his true self became known, as a spy. Aged 20, the noble died and Finrod was instructed to leave by the new Lord. He tried to return home, but found that his sister had died young, and his father had taken a new Elven wife, who would not allow him to stay in the house that had once been his home. He left the forest and sought other employment. Trying mundane jobs, he found that he needed the rush of combat so drifted between mercenary companies fighting for and against the city of Julianople as commanded. He saved as much of the gold he earned as he could, and learned to be guarded around others, gaining a reputation as a silent killer who was often used for special operations. Then, in a battle against sea-raiders, he was struck a terrible blow to the head. The ground was writhing, grass looked like fur and stones like fangs. The world appeared like a beast to him and thus led him to withdraw from it into his mind. He became mute and totally withdrawn. The company sent him to a hospital, where the terrors subsided, and he was comforted by a woman who splashed water on his face. She said she came from Julianople and would heal him. He came out of his stupor, and when he spoke to others in his ward, none of them recall such a woman being in the room. Curious, he asked around and was told about the Church of the Three Sisters. He left the company and set out to Julianople. Once there, he went to the Temple and bought himself a Holy Text and Holy Symbol and attended a service to join the Cult. He feels that the intervention of the Three Sisters marks a turning point in his life and is seeking to start afresh. He finds their link to the seasons gives him solace: nature has always been a place of safety and pleasure for him and this has drawn him to the cult. As he left the temple, he met an old comrade in arms, Albrecht, who was in the city on leave from the Company of the Purple Dragons. Albrecht mentioned that Tilly One-Eye was looking for people for a job, and as Finrod is in need of funds, he allowed Albrecht to bring him to the Dead Mermaid Casino. Somewhere in his head, he is mulling over what his conversion to the Sisters means, but as is typical with him, those thoughts are buried in the issues of finding work and working out how to dump Albrecht without causing offence. Unique Goal:* Trivia Tidbits (optional): 1. Finrod has one friend - a Forest Gnome called 'Florin' who has made gadgets for him in the past. They share a fascination with wildlife and this has led to an unlikely friendship 2. Finrod's eyes are the onlything about him which never change. Whoever he is pretending to be, the eyes of a merciless killer are evident. 3. Finrod's conversion to the Three Sisters is real - but he is not able to understand much of what the faith means. 4. Finrod does not play games. He trains, works, eats and sleeps. All else is frippery and nonsense.

So, I rolled my stats, and they are... not quite what I hoped. I was planning a dwarven scholar bard, and I may still be able to make it work, like this:

His AC will be low, but a bard with 4 Cha is certainly unique. Before I commit to it, I'd like to ask a rules question. The dwarven scholar archetype replaces Charisma with Wisdom for "all class features and effects relating to her bard class, including her bardic performance ability..." Would you rule that as including Perform checks made as part of a Bardic Performance (such as Countersong and Distraction)? Because if not, those two performances will be basically useless to me.

I rebuilt Liana Xirkul slightly, moving her from being a sling user to being a light crossbow user, to avoid the penalty to damage from having a low strength.

Otherwise she should be done for now and ready for review.

So I've ended up not making updates to the character table as I forgot to on my laptop and I'm on my phone again, but I will be updating with new and complete applications in the morning as necessary.

Damien is complete. The rolls forced some interesting adjustments to my initial build idea (8 Strength and 12 Dexterity: Damien certainly won't be doing much physical fighting if combat happens, lol), but I'm happy to see where he goes from here if selected.

Likewise, those who know him have their own descriptive words for him; irascible, cantankerous, and occasionally downright rude. It isn’t that he is especially easily annoyed, he merely is not shy about telling you when you annoy him, or when you are boring, or when the meat you prepared for him is too dry and stringy (his former company chef can attest to the last one). He’s not one to beat around the bush, either. He says what he means and says it plainly. To put it simply, Kotram cares less for appearing polite than he does for making his opinions known. You always know exactly where you stand in his eye, whether you want to or not. If you can get past his bristly exterior, you will find he is a dwarf of hidden depths. He grew up poor and downtrodden, while hearing of the glories of his family’s past. He knows from personal experience that a person can be much more than they seem, and so does not judge based on outward appearances, but by actions. Despite his blunt nature, he is a good and loyal friend, especially to anyone he fights alongside. As a mercenary, he fought for many armies and causes, and he’s learned that once the fighting starts, you fight for the person beside you above anything else. If you can’t rely on your allies, the battle is lost before it begins. Even with close friends, though, he is blunt and unfiltered, quick to tell a companion they are being foolish or annoying. The most important thing to Kotram is his clan. It is for them he became a mercenary, and for them he is pursuing this new path. As a child, he listened with rapt attention as his elders told the stories of the old glories of Clan Deepiron, and now knows all the tales and songs by heart. When he goes into battle, these stories are on his lips, inspiring him and directing his allies with ancient dwarven battle tactics. More than just tales of the past, to Kotram these are his hope for the future. His clan was great once, and that greatness still flows in their blood, in his blood. They will see that greatness again, or he will die trying, and achieve his glory in whatever life comes after this one. History Once, Clan Deepiron was among the most respected families in the dwarven kingdoms. The clan was the very image of dwarven strength, its history boasting many heroes and generals of near-legendary status. That was long ago, though. It is difficult to say precisely what caused the clan’s downfall, if only because the causes were so numerous it was impossible to determine which was the largest factor. Petty infighting and politics, betrayals from former allies, natural disasters, battlefield blunders; the list goes on. What is certain is that Clan Deepiron is now a shadow of its former glory. They command no armies and call no clan ally. The family that once claimed massive mountain fortresses and lavish halls now rule over only a few run down homes in a predominantly human town. That is not to say that their past glories have been forgotten, however. The stories are still told, if only amongst themselves. No Deepiron child grows up without hearing of the heroes in their history Kotram Deepiron, like many of his clan, seeks to restore the ancient glory through proving his prowess in battle. Without a realm to defend or allies to ride with him, his only option was to become a mercenary and fight for whoever would pay. While this has brought him some measure of prestige and no small amount of gold, any real glory has eluded him. No one tells tales of mercenaries fighting for gold. Still, he stuck to his path, hoping that someday the sellsword life would lead him to something greater, something that could return his family to greatness. Now he thinks he may have found it. Kotram never thought much of religion and gods before; the Deepirons always believed a dwarf should win glory by their own strength and for themselves and their clan, not in the service of a deity. But when he was struck down in a fierce battle and saw a vision of a mysterious woman, he began to wonder. Despite losing an eye to the injury, he felt he was seeing more clearly than he ever had before. The teachings of the Three Sisters are unusual to him, focusing on moral uprightness rather than personal strength, but he cannot deny the vision he has seen, and it must mean something. If this foreign religion holds the key to restoring his clan, then he will follow its path wherever it leads. For now, it has led him to the Dead Mermaid Casino, and what seemed like a simple job. Unique Goal Three Trivia Tidbits Unlike many dwarves, Kotram rarely drinks alcohol. Intoxication dulls a warrior’s senses, and you never know when battle may begin. The tattoos on his head have no real cultural significance- he got them when he was young, to impress a girl. Has tried and failed to learn to play several musical instruments. Although he rarely gets the opportunity to indulge it, Kotram has an interest in gardening.
