Given the unique nature of the application process for This game, are we limited to only a Single Application, or could we also include a "Secondary" application as a sort of a "backup" in a different position? Answer: No, but do not submit more than two and keep them in the same post thread with a clear division as to which is which.
Could we list a Secondary Role for our application that would still fit the character? Example: Primary Role - Executive Officer, Secondary - Chief Security/Tactical Officer? Answer: Yes.
Are there any benefits/drawbacks to playing as a certain species? Answer: Yes, there are certain benefits and possibly a drawback to playing a certain species. Each Species gets attribute bonuses, A trait bonus, and two talents to choose from that only that species has access to. An example of a drawback would be how Andorians and vulcans don't always get along due to past history, or how a Bajoran would tend to be hostile to a Cardassian.
You will not be locked in to a Species choice if you are accepted into the game. That said, the "idea" and "concept" of your character would likely fit better in one or more species than others. I'm looking for characters that aren't defined by their race so much as shaped by it to some degree. It doesn't sum up who they are, just adds to it and possibly takes away from it at times (depending on others points of view).
How does character creation work, exactly? Or should we only worry about what you asked for in the application section? Answer: Character creation goes through a process somewhat like Traveller, but not as intensive. You may do a full character creation, but it isn't necessary and won't give an advantage to having your character chosen
Are you allowing Homebrew? Answer:Sorry. No, I am not. I sticking to the core rule book for this first time out as a GM of this system.
Is there an online Character Creation Tool?: Answer: Yes. Here is the link to an online tool. It is not required to have a fully created character.
Should we put our desired rank/station posting in our application? Or can we create a character as we like, and depending on how you view the application, thanks for the flattery Almighty GM, then if they are accepted, they'll be sorted into a position that you think is a good fit? Answer: You can just put "Any" if you like and that's fine with me. Truth be told, once I do narrow it down towards the deadline, I'll be ignoring the preferred role at first. If there's competition for a role, I'll discuss with potentials about other roles, or it's even possible, that I may - given the adventures/campaign ahead - think a character is better suited to be in another role for the best interests of the crew. If this is the case, I'll discuss with players at that time.
Very interested! Putting this here just to mark interest and subscribe to the thread! Will look at the rules and get to work on an application in due time. ^_^

Posting Interest. Unsure what role I'll be vying for at this time.
I will be applying with a candidate for the Chief of Security/Tactical Officer. At the moment I'm thinking Vulcan with how the character is forming in my mind.

Out of curiosity, are there any benefits/drawbacks to playing as a certain species? And how does character creation work, exactly? I couldn't find that info in the documents you linked us to, but it is entirely possible that I missed them somewhere. Or should we only worry about what you asked for in the application section? On the one hand, I have a character concept, but I'm not sure if choosing a certain species/specialization/etc. will impact the gameplay in a way that I might want to avoid.
Apologies if I'm jumping the gun. Hoping all is well with you, Almighty GM! ^_^

Mitsubachi,
Could you put your app in the template form I've given, hiding everything that isn't listed in secret tags, and showing all else?
Also, once you've done that I'll give feedback.
Thanks,
And... does this mean you have the Core rule book???

OK, done. Sorry - I thought you would like to see the whole character.
I don't have the core book but have played the game and am familiar with the mechanics. There is a neat (and legit!) online tool for generating characters which is quite fun to use - you make the choices and it offers the associated focuses/talents as you go along.
Mitsy
Given your familiarity, I would like to see the whole character, just know that it won't give you an advantage over those not so familiar with the System.
Also, can you remove the secret tag around the application?
Can you also reply with that link?
Thanks.
