I was thinking more cutesy cartoony spiders ... heheh ... but thats tangential. There are lots of fun animals and such.

Thanks for taking the time to work through how crafting will work out. I was never to sure about that - never have a chance for it really in the tabletop games I've been in.

I was going to post up a picture of a cute cartoon spider, but then google turned to Spider Man, which turned to Kirsten Dunst, and well... I figure we'd all appreciate this picture more...

cosmetics are just cosmetics-- David did a great job reminding me of that in his wiki.
If it does what it does, it doesn't matter what it looks like when it does it.

i didn't think spiders would fit celestine's image-- if he's ot a taste for that, start expanding on it. that's easy description filler/fluff

just virtually everywhere south and west o karnath is gophers. Karrnath have their monkeys... the mror hold dwarves have probably just the generic glob of clay model of wrights we're used to.
Vintereth's Wright would probably resemble a miniature dramojh. Partly as a "Who's controlling who now?" gag, and partly because of the plethora of limbs. (Dramojh have invariably been described as a cross between dragons and spiders that also have prehensile limbs.)

I've never been in an actual game where I've crafted equipment, though I have done so in an arena. And now I'm making an item crafting absurdity. Go figure. Ironically, said character is the least pure of the casters on the party, as was the character who'd made stuff in the arena. (That was Nirrti, the chameleon//evil incarnate who poked people for lots of damage due to hefty damage modifiers. I've actually played a lot of chameleons, come to think of it.)

I don't believe that any of the Eberron texts go into much detail on the magical economy - Magic of Eberron would be the best place to look, but I don't recall it explaining much along those lines. Go ahead and write your article, as we've shown that there's A LOT of ways in which this could be explored. (Just be sure to cite us. )

LOL at Surreal's picture.

I had to edit that picture, surreal... this is a kid's show, and I'd hate to lose privileges here.

I found your edit amusing as well, along with the reason why. Ah, those little details!

Nice avatar, by the way? Whoever drew it?

Last time I checked, Spider-Man was PG-13. I thought the pic was within the realm of decency.. then again, that edit kind of makes the picture look more risque than the original.

Hmm, maybe Vintereth needs on of these: http://kaleva.youep.free.fr/ART/Robot_Spider.jpg

Hey Fil, just want to run something by you since it's technically RAW, but might not be kosher in game. My 5th level Cabinet Trickster ability lets me change shape to any small or medium humanoid. Technically then, I can go and possess a bear, then change into a humanoid form. Celestine might take objection to something like this (being a druid and all), but it's a quick and easy way for me to adopt a body at mid level that isn't a frail husk and offers some interesting versatility. Is this ok by you? My most likely travel forms would be a Varag for land or a Raptoran for flight.

holy crap! that's great!

you may want to invest some time and energy acquiring a troll.

and pehaps now I won't have to worry about you floating around causing me as much mischief as I originally worried about.

keep in mind, if you lose control, and are forced back to a rider role, the change shape will negate, and it will snap vback to whatever it is... so you're cat would still be a cat. but once yer on yer way, you can easily just change shape to whatever you want.

what is a varag?

Wait, so does that mean you don't want me causing mischief?...

Nah, I fully intend to do as much body hopping as possible (that's half the fun of being a ghost). In many situations it will probably be more of a hinderance being stuck in a body, but having the option of grabbing a tough meatbag and shifting into appropriate form could be fun too. Imagine a dire polar bear with animal growth and warshaper goodness, shrunk down to Kobold size and wielding decent equipment. I could give Valeas a run for his money in terms of melee brutality.

So... Sharn has a zoo right?

The Varag is a goblinoid from MM4. Useful because it has a base land speed of 60'

Another random thought concerning Draco was to possess/channel through him so he could become humanoid and accompany us into the city should the situation ever require it.

The problem stemmed from the fact that Kirsten Dunst was not wearing a bra under whatever else she was wearing. And that it was somewhat evident.

Surreal had mentioned the Change Shape trick before...it's a really neat way to buff whatever you're riding, though you lose your natural attacks. It's also probably the best way for Sul to interact with others, especially with an elder eidolon body. The body might have some crazy array of defenses, and yet Sul can still look relatively normal in it. I'll look into making something funny...are you interested in a gigantic critter (ie tarrasque, dragons), or something powerful and yet closer to normal sizes (end-stage outsiders)?

The Elder Eidolon is a construct.

Fil, will you allow the change shape ability in a non-organic or non-malleable body? (I was assuming that was a natural limitation, but given the wacky nature of our game it never hurts to ask)

Noldor: I really do like the Eidolon idea... I'm torn between either that one or getting an item of constant astral construct. The former has more goodies (and I think is cheaper), the latter is more versatile and convenient.
edit: aw heck, why not both!

Actually, she is wearing a bra. You boys obviously didn't look hard enough

Looks like the outsiders will have to be converted to something else before elder eidolon can be used. Not to worry; Fiend Folio has the half-troll template.

If Fil permits, I could always use the fiendish aspects from FC2. Because having a half-troll pit fiend elder eidolon as a body pales in comparison to having, say, Mephistopheles as your body. Unfortunately, those bodies require hefty caster levels to manage the caster level requirement for making such constructs. (CL>=HD) I'll definitely need to work on something for the hit points of those things, however - due to a lack of a Con score, none of them have many hit points.

Edit: I know of multiple operas with Meph and Faust (being a quiz bowl player), and yet I misspelled the name!
