Heh, with obvious tie-ins as Kimble's (or anyone else's) daughter if need be. Plus, she can probably take me places where a regular cat might get shoo-ed out. Why would the girl stumble somewhere she shouldn't be? The cat told her to off course :biggrin: Of course, now I might have to endure "dressup"... :o (that's a disturbingly appropriate icon)

So far, you guys are right on target with what I hoped for... throwing out little strings for me to weave with.
I've got the plots in place, but little things like this help it pop up a bit more organically than you guys getting led around by the nose, which is the most common mistake in PbP, IMO.
Yer also helping guide things in the direction you want to go... another wonderful feature of actively participating players. Yer all definitely earning yer xp.

btw... I'll be awarding the 5k to everyone at the end of the prologue, and since Lonewolf opted to buy off his +1 LA, everyone else will be getting a 3k xp bonus. The party only really needs to develop the prologue for 20 posts to hit level 11 with Valeas trailing by a mere 3k xp. So feel free to get involved with as many npc's at the party for the next "30 minutes" as well as at the dinner later.

Hi everyone. I am finally back from the skiin trip and it took the board about 6 hours to activate my account.

I will read now through the game thread and post a reply.

EDIT: One thing I noticed: Valeas has actually bought of a total LA of +2(Feral AND Lolth-Touched) which would actually give everyone else 15000xp => another level. I dont know how Fil wants to handle this...

Thanks for bringing that up, Lonewolf! You guys are welcome to "bank" as much of that as you want if you plan on building magic gear in the future with your allies, or just "cash it in" to tack on another 20k+ post xp. at the end of the prologue. Y'all will gain a level, and be well under way to level 12. Val is trailing a bit, but he'll get the cr boost for xp, allowing him to catch up soon enough. Val of course gets the 5k for building his background and faction as well, he just chose to be 15k behind to buy off the LA's.

If I find some template that costs an LA or two and I can apply after character creation, can I 'buy' it with a good RP reason or save the exp to buy it later (y'know, creepy mournlands magic mutating things and all). That said, I don't actually have a template in mind or know any that would be particularly nice - just wondering.

As for saving it to build magic gear, how would you want that to work mechanically?

Of course, I may just spend it to gain the level ... just want to keep the options open.

If you blow the xp to build the item, if you know he right folks, you'll get theitmem at a reduced rate... if they are real close, you can get it at build cost.

for tempates, go right ahead and save the xp or later. I'll let you do practically anything with good RP reasons. shoot... you can sit on the xp and use a chunk later as you polease.... it's all up to you what you wat to do with it. You may grab a legacy item or somethin down the road needing xp to activate. I don't care. Valeas is earning 5k for preebuild, and everyone else is getting 20k.
regardless, xp is always awarded at the ed of the chapter. so you can use it before the next chapter's opening if you so choose.

Surreal... you can only confirm that mind reading is being blocked. there are a nbumer o doo dads that would prevent that... as well as shunting spirits out of hosts. This is a mine field for you.You just haven't tripped any triggers yet.
Celestine is actually in the form of a werebear, ut glamoured as himself currently. Nothing is disupting that... but that is metagaming logic.

I think sul would epect rich and powerful folks to blow some gold to protect themselves... its probably a limit of resources in New Cyre that has prevented the entire keep rom being warded against undead.

A good rule of humb would be anyone with "ir' " as part o their name has aout a 25% chance of being warded, anyone iwth the "prince/princess" title would be 75% warded, "count'countess" 50%, and "baron/baroness" 25%
anyone else is a craps shoot... I don't think it would really surprise anyone that a prominent negotiator and coordinator would be warded, as is the case of Lady Abosteil... she seems more than capable of affecting people's minds as it is without magic augmentation. :")
