OOC --hobnobbing with the riffraff-- random musings and banter
Cloud of smoke and he appears, Master of surprise. Who's that cunning mind behind That shadowy disguise? Nobody knows for sure, But bad guys are out of luck. --------- Heh, that brings back memories. I must be feeling nostalgic. Just the other day I was talking with some kids who'd never heard of Ducktales. That makes me feel old and sad ![]()

Ducktales? I used to love it. Darkwing Duck was great as well.
And what was the one with Balou the Bear as a cargo plane pilot? Used to watch that all the time!

Yesterday I was talking with some folks about video games and was nearly floored when I heard "what's a sega?" Cripes, it wasn't that long ago now was it?

Over twenty years ago actually... and now for a philosophical insight

I had the very first Sega system. My brother got a Nintendo and I got a Sega. Ah the good old days when there was only the direction cross pad and two buttons.

My first system was a Coleco that hooked up to the crazy ADAM computer to play games. You fancy kids and your new fangled "d-pads"... why, back in the day we had to use clunky knobs.

I've tried about every system that ever was ... Super Nintendo is probably up at the top of my list.
I decided to take a 'fun' course this quarter, my last (!) quarter a college - knights and samurai. Maybe there will be something useful in there to add to the game. |

wow.. that sounds like a real fun class!
Let me know if I can be of service regarding the samurai stuff. I've spent a good 10 years studying Bujinkan Budo Taijitsu... I can probably point you in the right direction regarding anything to do with violence and samurai. I don't know squat about european knights, but samurai I know. whatever. Hey, I'm back! I've posted, and the plot moves forward.

Every time I hear "knights" and "samurai" in the same sentence, I can't help but think back to the katana vs rapier (or other European weapon) flamewars I used to see back on the weapon/blacksmithing forums I used to frequent.

And nobody brings up the shamshir or pata. Even though the latter has arguably been in Full Metal Alchemist. Damascus steel techniques do occasionally get mentioned, however, from my recollection of WotC board katana threads.
