Carnival of Souls

Here shall be presented a gallery of ghosts, terrifying monsters, and NPCs...sometimes all three at once, and certainly not always distinguishable from one another. Let's begin with the Pallbearers...

Velkan Lupescu several years with a carriage of traveling scholars, tutors from Lepidstadt who learned from the city's advances and innovations intent on sharing with with surrounding burghs and burroughs who lacked access to such resources. They believed that progress required a wide front - on which note, Velkan would often joke that progress was an inherently flawed concept, and then his friends would throw things at him. The group was separated some time ago.

Bishop comes from a funereal family of grave tenders and providers of somber services, who mostly make their homes along the river between Chastel and Ardis. Most of his socializing is done with people at their most raw, in their lowest depths, and it's affected his threshold for anxiety somewhat. Is someone dead? No? Then kindly calm down and let's sort this out.

Clarence Torry is a pastry baker from Lepidstadt, who has been living for the past few years in Ardis. He makes particularly good croissants, but the people in Ardis prefer a good strudel over "that frilly foreign stuff." He does not understand why those same people are so proud to show off their expensive Osirian artifacts, but he sighs and makes them strudel. It's a living.

Nikol grew up around Tamrivena, near the edge of a wood. Over the years, he's come to know his patch of that wood fairly well, become confident in his hunting (if nothing else) and attempts to find some satisfaction in protecting and providing for some of the little overlooked hamlets along its outskirts.

Kendra Lorrimor-Vukal : Daughter of the well-noted, if never well-known, Petros Lorrimor. Kendra spent most of her younger years at the Girls School of Cant, a boarding school in the country. Some of those years were spent wandering with her father, but not enough to suit her. Later in life, Kendra was married to a man by the name of Clark Vukal. They lived happily for some few years, until they encountered/were drawn into an attack, probably undead (possibly werewolves). Kendra doesn't talk about it, and the gossip varies. Clark was injured, bitten or mauled, what-have-you - and Kendra found him lying, bleeding, amidst the blood and chaos of it. She threw herself onto him, covering them in a Sanctuary spell, but only just in time to watch him die, slowly. Whatever battle was going on, I don't think it settled or even moved away for hours - she was trapped under her own spell with her lover's fresh corpse for company, and her own grief. She moved in with her father shortly after.

Adivion Adrissant : Raised amidst the decaying excesses of Ustalav's nobility, Adivion's family is well-known and respected everywhere east of the Palatinate borders. Choosing to attend Lepidstadt University, elected capitol of the "enlightened" Palitanates, made waves in the family waters to say the least. Then leaving to go exploring like some common tomb raider...it's brought a roguish reputation to the family name, of which they clearly didn't approve. Good thing most of them are dead, really - Adivion has the run of most of the family estates now, and travels between them with some frequency.
