Hahah sympathy weight for the win. Yeah I've been heavy all my life and 6 months short of my 30th birthday I got on the scale, said "Holy F*ck" and vowed to drop as much weight as humanly possible to feel better. Took me a lil over a year to do but I did it.

@Kaylara: I dropped out of our Outplay group. Good luck! I was woefully outgunned.

Yeah, I posted first, but then I saw TeufelHeunden's post. That post alone would beat all the posts I would make this week.

It just isn't worth the time investment for me to try to compete with that.

At 6'2 and 240lbs I am over weight. It seems that every time we have a kid I gain 15lbs that just never seem to go away. Maybe if I went to the gym I would be doing better, but with a chronic digestive condition you would think I would be able to keep the weight down :/ My wife says she likes me with a little meat on my bones, but if I get much heavier the dreaded type 2 which runs in my family might show its ugly head.

I am working on your post tonight. I just need to move to my PC (on the laptop right now), to get it finished up. I would have gotten to you all earlier today but it was a 10 hr day at work, so I had to take some time with the kiddos before their bed time.

one quick way to lose a bit. Cut out Soda's and sub them with with Plain Water or at most a flavored no carb water. (or diet soda, but that's a bit worse in the long run). Eat pretty much any meats but cut out bread from lunches and dinners. (breakfast is fine, and small portion during lunch is ok if needed) You should lose about 15-20 by just doing that.

If able, try a membership at a place with a lap pool and try swimming for 30min a day 3-5 days a week. (or visit your local YMCA) That will help you trim it off faster and also tone your body.

My biggest problem is soda. I've cut BACK significantly, and it's helped. I'm in generally good health, and as my daughter gets more and more interactive, I lose small amounts of weight. Fall should bring a 10-15 pound drop in weight as I am more comfortable moving around outside. I'm in Los Angeles, and summers can get oppressive. Today it was over 80% humidity, lots of sun, and probably the low 80s. I'm not going to be pushing a stroller up hills in that if I can avoid it.

Before anybody asks, yes I intend to be a one trick pony in this game, but it's one heck of a versatile trick and I intend to be clever.

Honestly what I discovered is, yes cutting back helps a little but also three REALLY big things that I had to change was How much I ate, what I ate, and my activity level. I got a app for my phone called "Myfitnesspal" and it was a eye opener. What I thought was one serving was actually 2-3 and things I thought relatively healthy were complete crap. LOL

For me (a work in progress) the real significant change is to go on an hour's steady walk each day.

On a separate note: You know what the galling part is? It's the fact that if we were actually there to do drugs I would have a +14 to bluff to convince him that we are not.

But because we're telling the truth I am stuck with untrained diplomacy at +5.

I get my hour to two hours of walking each day putting my daughter to sleep. I'm a stay-at-home dad with a hyperactive toddler. She won't sleep unless she is removed from the house, mildly restrained, and largely ignored. I can't even shush her or she stays awake. This leads to long walks in my neighborhood which is rife with hills. My legs are in GREAT shape, I'm STARTING to get biceps/triceps/pecs/delts, but my abdomen is still a bit large and fluffy. My wife appreciates it, though, as it's a decent pillow.

EDIT: I tried to pick a fight in the Game Thread. Yes. Just me. The rest of you can stand back if you wish. I'll do nonlethal damage if a fight occurs.
