We might also consider taking 5e's system for unconsciousness - no more negative hit points - but that's a conversation for later. Right now, please welcome our fifth and probably final player, HughtheHand! That should round us out nicely, and keep up the momentum when we start posting.

Meanwhile - I also just updated my deity descriptions section, so that's coming along! I've got to get a few mechanics together today yet, but I'll be adding Iomedae, Lamashtu, and Urgathoa soon.

Honestly? You can use the recommendation for a guideline, but I'm gonna say whatever you can justify to me based on your character is acceptable starting gear. Most of you are broke even if you haven't started out that way and you're in Ustalav, home of possibly the greatest class disparity in Golarion - the only wealth in this country is either concentrated in the nobility or buried with them.

While we're at it, I've been thinking a lot about shopping via pbp and also about how adventurers become one-percenters so rapidly in dnd and how that affects a horror-themed campaign...I expect what's going to happen here is that I'm going to consolidate a lot of the loot tables so that you're not finding +1 crossbows everywhere and awkwardly carting them back to town every time you're overburdened. If this were Kingmaker or something, I'd be inclined to reward packratting as redistribution across your realm, but when it's just a few of you trying to be as survivable as you can, it makes sense that you might just drop your old armor when you find a better one, or that you won't pay as much attention to that greatsword in the corner if nobody here cares about greatswords in general, right?

Instead, I'm going to try to make the loot you get *interesting* and to make shopping a thing that only really happens organically or when you're looking for something specific. As a part of the RP, you know? So the wealth level might never get very high in this campaign, but your gear should be good. Ooh, if you like, we can keep a wishlist in your character threads - and that's possibly another use for Prophecy points! Prodding fate just enough to point out that odd cairn off the side of the road, sort of thing?

As always, thoughts are welcome - and I just want to say, that you all for being patient and for helping me build this thing. I'm enjoying it already and we're not even started yet! (Tentative start date in the next week or so?)

lol, um well, I somehow think about 77gp would cover the novelty sized key ring of holy symbols he needs, since none of them are fancy although, not sure how many not blatantly evil gods there are... Other than his armor, he uh, didn't have a lot of overhead

Oh hey, while we're on about equipment - this is a fairly cosmopolitan adventure. So there will be times when you're sleeping rough, but unless your character is particularly outdoorsy (and in this country, that's a bit more rare) then you shouldn't have to worry about the where-do-I-keep-my-bedroll part of character building. It's perfectly reasonable that you don't carry a bedroll everywhere you go, or two weeks worth of rations, or a ten foot pole. Honestly, unless you're expecting a dungeon crawl there's no reason to be carrying fifty feet of rope on your person at all times. I won't punish you for failing to have an adamantine crowbar in your pocket and a cold iron dagger up your sleeve. (Though given the setting, it is possible that you've got a silver dagger, or some alchemical silvering agent - if not, you will certainly find some.)

I may punish you for selling that silver dagger on your way to go hunt werewolves...but we'll see.
