I've been able to get images in Google Spreadsheet before... not sure how consistently it works, though.
If you have decently pretty maps, I use the Google version of Paint (layers are handy!). Otherwise, whatever's easiest for you, I think. Um... fun? I like gaming. I enjoy my combat being crunchy or freeform, my RP being taught and immersive or light and jovial, and my environment being destructable. Take your pick - as long as I can throw tables at people, I'll play however works for everyone else ^.^ I've made more GMs look through the rules for improv weapons... |

I'm quite easy when it comes to maps. Another game that I currently play in has one map per round.
As for what I'd like to get out of my games? I'm looking for a rich experience that I can get lost into my characters with. A good blend of role playing with some combat here and there or even just encounters that our characters need to overcome using our various skills. I'm still a freshling with PbP but already I have seen that it is much much more fruitful in terms of roleplaying, netting a higher quality in RP than I've seen in tabletop games that I've been apart of. |

It's true, BeZ, as long as people stick around >.<. I have some stuff at another site, not nearly as populated as this one, and a lot of games die because a couple players disappear and there's no one to fill their slots.
Basically, this place is the promised land of pbp, as far as I can see. |

Games here still die a lot. A LOT. I'd say probably 75% of games die within 6 months. Not to scare you or anything, but really, it's hard to keep things going, whether through player dropout or DM burnout. That being said, if people are dedicated, some games can literally go for years.
![]() EDIT: Then again... probably 75% of tabletop D&D games probably only last for 6 months anyway. At least if my experiences are similar to others'. EDIT2: I swear half of the people in this game are also applicants of sammichweasel's Clockwork Imperium game too!

When I moved to Colorado in August I left a gaming group of 6 years or so. Every other group I've played with has been sporadic on short lived. As far as PbP goes, it seems that is definitely harder to keep things going for extended periods of time. I would love for this to be one of those games that keeps going.

We'll do our best to fill that vacant hole in your heart, Mitten.
Battlefield preference? I'm with you on having 1 map per round. It's not a HUGE preference, of course. And I understand that it's going to take more effort on your part to make fancy maps and on all our parts to keep track of all the moving and shifting around for the round. But I've done it before and I think I can handle it. And as someone who loves coming up with characters and environments and drawing random crap I definitely appreciate immersion and fanciness... what the hell *fixes contact*. There we go. I like a good mix of battle and roleplay in my d&d. I haven't experienced many, but I think I've got a thing for expansive dungeons.. maybe it's my subconscious bringing back pleasant memories of playing Dungeon Keeper. And most of all, I'm a sucker for danger! Nothing gets me more excited than a PC dying in a fight or coming close to dying. It creates suspense! It shows that the DM isn't afraid to break you and that every fight could be your last. I don't like being coddled. In fact, one of my fondest memories was during a live 3.5 campaign long ago; my first d&d campaign ever, actually. I was playing a samurai and we were traversing a dwarven foundry-type dungeon with mechanical spiders, smelting ore, and golems. During the boss fight with a giant stone dwarf golem, my character got knocked prone and the golem rolled particularly well stepping on my character's arm and crushing it. I think I ended up landing the killing blow with my good arm, and eventually got a mechanical replacement for the useless one, but it stuck in my mind as a "Holy ****... That's.. probably what would happen haha. Now I get to make an epic come back as a down-but-not-out bloody hero! This is awesome!" Makes for a good story too in the "Hey remember the time you almost got decapitated?" sort of way. Um.. I'm rambling. Don't mind me haha. I know encounter balance is something that comes with time. I know I'd never be able to predict how such a weird party composition will fare. Last edited by TheBog; Dec 9th, 2011 at 07:34 PM. |

Oh that wont be an issue. One of my favorite DnD memories involves a half-giant sumo wrestler pancaking a pirate between two tables for calling his ceremonial robes a dress.

No word from Larrent yet, I'm gonna give him another day or two. If he's a no go, we could just go on without him or we could look at picking up another player.
