so I FINISHED A PAINTING in the first time for probably 2 years. It was for a friend who was moving away so the deadline forced my hand, thanks, deadline!
and seen as the last one went down so well, here's a recently finished commission of Haku from Spirited Away. I'm very pleased with it, with the 2.5meter long tail and scaley booties and gloves, but I'll be happy to see the end of it because I live on a farm/building site. I literally couldn't even touch it without washing the whole room and myself... it was very stressful. Hey I hope you are all doing ok ![]()

Wow, those are impressive! The scene in the painting is really fun, and the huge variety of greenery you've put in adds a lot of interest to it, too. I like all the different types of plants, from the cacti to the bright flowers and the distinct types of leaves, and how well they're done.
That costume is awesome, too! All that detail is so impressive, and I can just imagine how difficult it must have been to work on it in those conditions! Super great job, Wishkamon! |

A painted rock and a clay pin, both painted in acrylic. One of the koi fish has a terrible case of "angry derp face" but still, not bad for a first try.

A work in progress-- My first attempt at drawing glassware. Alcohol markers and white gel pen. I used random google images for reference because I'm not cool enough to A) have any of these things on hand or B) figure out how to draw any of this without a reference.

Awesome! Those look terrific! All the little details on the glass are really impressive.
Drawing alcohol with alcohol markers is an art genre we need more of. ![]() |

Been a while. Here's an update.
Moved back to using colored pencils after my gray marker died. I used to use them primarily, before I accepted a suggestion to try colors for a more cartoony look. Personally, I missed colored pencils. The My lioness Raziya now has tawny fur, not macaroni-and-cheese-coloredcolors are more accurate for some of my cast members, for one. There's a certain roughness to pencils, graphite or colored, that I feel also fits my aesthetics and ideas better. In order from left to right: Raziya's Some might say "sensei" or "sifu" for other martial artsmentor Hektor; Raziya having a catnap (lionnap?); some post-apocalyptic armor; a B-lister of my fantasy cast, Lovella Dragonhart the mouse storm-sorceress; a rather displeased Tigra from Marvel's B-list of Avengers. For whatever reason Lovella has the DeviantArt watermark on her, but whatever. Lifted it off my dA page anyway. If interested, there's more where these came from on the page itself.
