Hello-

I am working through the character sheet. As this is my first time -Here- it may take me some time.

I don't recall seeing anywhere how stats are generated. And I will keep looking here for certain answers I see have been given to others already.

Hello-

OK, new question... Pathfinder states that there is a limit on point-buy for a score of 18. Is that the same here, or perhaps 19, as we are Level 2?

I am going to go on the thought that it is 18 for now.

Hello-

I edited my character post to include a link to my sheet, but *I* have not been able to verify that the link works. Has anyone else been able to access it?

(Its not quite done, but a lot is there)

Quite frankly you don't want to put more than 16 in any particular skill else you may find your character lacking balance. Especially on a 20 point buy, trying to get an 18 without the racial bonus would be near suicidal (as it costs 17 of your 20 points).

And yes. If you make your character sheet public (involving but a few button presses) we should be able to see your sheet.

Yeah, there are very few character types that can afford to start with 18 before racial bonus. I've only done this once with an oracle who had mysteries that let him substitute charisma for dexterity (and something else, too, can't remember).

In other news, I should have my character sheet ready tonight.

Oh, just noticed you updated the mechanics post. What does the skill Demolitions replace? Is it a class skill for anyone, or if not, might I use my other trait to do a similar thing with that as with Knowledge Biology?

I do have bombs, after all, though I am planning on roleplaying them as an explosive mix of chemicals rather than gunpowder-driven.

Demolitions! Its actually its own skill. Classes with it available are Alchemist, Bard, Rogue, Fighter, Gunslinger, Inquisitor, Wizard. So like half of you, actually. It pertains to several things but for the most part will act very similarly to things like "alchemist's fire" and the what not. Some are also remote detonation, pressure sensitive and the like. I'll amend the skill section when necessary/when you come across them.

Secondary reminder! Starting Gold is 500gp and not the 1000gp normally given to 2nd level characters. Just in case you forgot. Any remaining gold you can convert into an "art piece" or a similar piece of nonsense junk. Actual money is something that's going to be very rare and bartering is going to be more precedent.

Cool! INT, I presume?

Also, apologies, but there might be another hold-up. I was wondering if I could use some of my starting gold to brew potions, as well as craft alchemical items, ahead of time (making the necessary craft checks, of course). This would represent everything Benjamin managed to take with him that the Khans didn't destroy.

Also, character is done except for feats and equipment. I tried to make the extracts ones that could be reflavored as easily as possible so as not to appear so magical. The only one I'm having a problem with (but it seemed like suicide to leave out) is Shield. Maybe it functions the same, but instead of an invisible wall of force we roleplay it as an extract that heightens my self-protection instinct, allowing me to avoid attacks even above and beyond my normal dexterity?

EDIT: Ok, just used both feats for Extra Discovery. My only weapon is SCIENCE!!! :: cue maniacal laughter ::
And, I shorted myself with the skill points initially, fixed now.

EDIT EDIT: Well... I probably have other non-sciency weapons... but my PRIMARY weapon is SCIENCE!!!

@Solar: Encumbrance by RAW, correct. A masterwork backpack is a good way to boost your capacity if you are having trouble. There will also be other ways to increase your loads later on (like super masterwork!) in loo of bags of holding and whatnot.

@Thame: Yes, knowledges are, by nature, Intelligence. And I'm totally okay with you using craft to make things pregame. Its a good way to encourage crafts. And yes, that's a good way to flavor Shield.

@Bailey: Your sword should totally be a hell-o-chopper. You know because- yeah. You know. Totally. Right? Get it? No? Dang...

Ok, thanks. I was going to make the rolls tonight, but after the long day I had my evening beer hit me harder than usual. I love the setup for game start, by the way! Great way to get everyone together.

Will roll for crafts, finish character, and post tomorrow. I've got an extract that helps me craft. I'm assuming I could use it during the process provided I didn't go over my daily allotment? (don't worry, I can only cast 3 a day, which is probably the crappiest allotment of the casting classes anyway)

There are rules for that? I thought it was the same action to retrieve an item from anywhere unless specific rules (class abilities, feats, special equipment, etc.) override...
