Brown, grey, black, something drab. Or you could go the opposite and do neon or tie-dye colors for Benjamin.

Well. Suppose I should specify now how combat will work.
This is the smoothest way I've seen combat done in PbP format so that's what we're going to go with. I'll wait until everyone has rolled initiative and then we'll begin! From the looks of it though it looks like you'll all definately be acting first. Side note: None of them are flatfooted, but Druth did succeed at his stealth roll to remain unobvious. Secondary note: If at all possible after your narration I would love a summary of your actions, current HP value and any active effects in a spoilertab after your post. Like this. You all should be able to move your respective pieces on the Googledoc should you feel so inclined. Last edited by robotbear; May 6th, 2013 at 10:24 PM. |

Sounds good! Question, as it doesn't specify, if Ben were to use his free hand to cover Jace's eyes then shut his eyes, could he avoid both of them being hit by the flash powder if he throws it down in front of him? That seems like it should work, as effectively blind people shouldn't be subject to the effects of bursts of light, but the description is unclear.

I would say that he wouldn't be blind, but he would be Dazzled (-1 penalty to attacks and perception based checks) since he's not sure about the intention and is still effected.
Also at this point it doesn't look much like they're are looking for a fight and are happy to take the box and leave if that helps with any of your decisions. Last edited by robotbear; May 7th, 2013 at 03:33 PM. |

Sorry, end of semester time. Lots of grading has gathered up most of my attention.

No problem.
And like promised the raggity folk leave without so much a fuss! This brings up a point I'd like to make: I'm very unlikely going to say "kills these guys cuz they be baaaaad!" I'm also going to try hard and never make a faceless advisory. So. Never assume that because so guy's got a story that he's important. He might have just been bandit numba 1 but you'll never know. And that guy you just let steal your radio? He might have in fact been the king of the Kingland Kings! But you'll never know. So I guess my point is: Never make an assumption about what's behind the paper cut-out backgrounds. Its probably a dire crocodile of deep plot or something. Also: never assume I have a plan for you guys. I just mostly pretend I know what I'm doing. Last edited by robotbear; May 7th, 2013 at 08:13 PM. |

Heh, well, this just got interesting! I'll wait 'til we work out the mechanics of what just happened before posting. Depending on positioning, Benjamin might just toss the powder over the shield and not worry about Jace since he's behind his shield, just going to the wounded man. Or if they're actually right by the door when Jace shoots, which it sounds like might be the case, he might just forget the powder and administer a healing extract to the man this next turn.

Just curious - can or should we be posting here any planning etc?
I know some P&P games are more loose and allow for group discussion, and others strictly adhere to the 'state your actions' and then it all plays out. -Dhomal |

Hey, so I know healing infusion/extract is meant to be imbibed, but for realism/roleplaying purposes in this instance could I play it as pouring it on the wound?

@Dhomal: Yeah, a little OOC stratigy is fine here. Nothing super gamey but some information would definately help me out. I'm actually contemplating whether or not Jace would have gotten the shot off actually, since technically he used his turn, didn't ready an action, and the ruffians left on their turn.
So -somebody- is going to have to retcon. Probably me. @Thamewolf: Sure! The one you have prepared currently is, in fact, super glue. So meld that flesh back in place! |

Sounds good. I have a feeling that most of the time, things will be somewhat obvious, but some planning cant hurt.
Also, I scoured the core rulebook as well as Advanced Players Guide, and could not find this, but thought I had read it somewhere.... A feat that allows you to flank at range, with a ranged attack. Any clues, or was it just wishful thinking? -Dhomal |
