Calathes moves cautiously to the east, hoping to avoid detection from the voices nearby.
A bracket shows where a longsword once hung over a stylized gold sunburst affixed to the south wall. Lines of strange runes are carved into the walls on both sides of the sunburst. Dried blood and excrement have been smeared across the sunburst and a short bench for kneeling that sits on the floor. The room is approximately 30' x 30' with the southern part of the wall rounded. There is a closed stone door to the north and a closed stone door to the east. This room appears to be a desecrated shrine to Iomedae. The doors inside the Gray Garrison are all massive steel doors. The door to the north is not locked or trapped. You hear nothing coming from the other side of the north door.
The east door is not locked or trapped, but you can her the sounds of animals feasting on something. A few moments later, you hear a cough and gurgling-noise. Calathes thrusts the door open and sees the following:
This room was once some sort of museum, but its contents have been smashed and scattered across the room-even the shelves have been shattered and torn apart in places. The bloody bodies of two paladins, their armor and bodies broken and mangled, lie in the ruins. One of the paladins is obviously dead and recently been feasted on by the two Abrikandilus in the room. The demonic hounds are currently trying to pull apart the living paladin who was lying against the northern wall. One beast has bitten his shoulder and the other has bitten him on his pelvis, trying to tear him in two equal shares. The room is 15' x 35', the northern wall is 3 squares wide. One beast is in the northeastern corner the other in the northwestern. They are flanking the paladin being torn in two. Combat doesnt begin until Calathes reveals himself in the room. The cold iron arrow sinks into the Abrikandilu that is biting into the paladin's pelvis. He is less armored in that region and the blood loss looks dire. The beast releases his victim from his clenching teeth and turns his attention to the archer who just shot him and snarls.

The abrikandilu biting down on the paladin sinks his teeth in further, not wanting to let his prey go. The paladin lets out a loud cry of pain and suffering.
Dice Bite Damage:
The wounded abrikandilu leaps towards Calathes and bites at his waist with gnashing fangs but narrowly misses! |

Vallak charges into the room directly at the paladin being feasted on. Completely ignoring the wounded abrikandilu leaping towards Calathes he charges with sword drawn to save the paladin.
Vallak swings Radiance at the neck of the biting creature in an attempt to make him break his bite. Dice Attack Roll:

Abaddon not wanting to be left out of the fray runs through the door with his axe raised high. He does not say anything out loud hoping to keep the noise to a minimum.
The demon dogs again. It is about time, this is why I was chosen. Abaddon attacks the dog that leaped at Calathas. Dice attack roll w'axe:
