The Bridge

A raised area at the stern of the deck, the bridge is the position of power on The Rose-Thorn. Unfortunately, it is currently a mess: the wheel is loose (although it does function), boards are rotten so footing is precarious at times, and it provides a panoramic view of the disaster that is the rigging. Perhaps that is an advantage, though. The entire tangled mess of ropes and cables can be observed from here, whereas other areas on deck obscure the view.

There is one other advantage, of course: when the ship is in motion and the winds are howling, conversations on the bridge do not carry anywhere except back into the open sky.

OOCThis is a one of a few 'downtime' locations where characters can interact. Time is irrelevant here. Conversations, plans, whatever you want to use this space for! You can even feel free to narrate work that is done to patch The Rose-Thorn back together if you would like!

What once was a fairly open, inviting perch for the navigator is now a mess of splintered wood. The wheel stands defiantly just inches from where the mast crashed onto the deck, taking no noticeable damage. The massive beam of the mast lies nearly horizontal from where it cracked due to a rowdy griffon and where it crashed through the deck boards.

The deck, fortunately, remains firm where the beam did not strike. There was very little wrong with the material the Rose-Thorn had been constructed from after all, so the damage remains localized. Still, even if the mast were to be moved and repaired, there is a gaping hole in the bridge. For now the mast seems firmly anchored between the remaining fibers of its damaged base and the hole it is resting in on the deck.
OOCThis thread will be apart from any in-game time. If anyone wishes to discuss the current damage or plans to fix it (or, of course, anything else)
