Q&A and Reminders
Because this has come up several times: Yes, I have a reason for this to be a backwater with simple characters. No, you don't need to know it to make the characters. Yes, you will enjoy it, I promise. When choosing a race, remember there have been no outsiders for at least 4 generations. Half-breeds are suitable so long as both halves would live together there as non-halves... and that statement is about to get convoluted, but I think you get what I mean There is no town guard or militia, should there be a threat from a wild animal, all able bodied men and women will deal with it. There has never been an attack from bandits that any are aware of. Religion has not been marked, I am open to creativity here. Law is handled by the Eldest plus the 4 other oldest in the village to make judgement. NO SHEETS needed at this point, but please list your intended Traits and Drawbacks Once your application is complete, come up with a few ideas on how your character would interact with other completed characters and make a post see how people feel, this will be built on after final selection. I'm going to be applying as an NPC, already spoke to Kappy about this. Basically, I'm going to be someone's Samwise Gamgee. Friend, pack-mule, moral support.

Go for the helpful Halfling build. A helpful Halfling investigator is perhaps the most busted support character ever. And a blast to play.

He's just going to be a commoner, but helpful would still be a good way to take him.

Hi Kapera, just wanted to run my race by you before I got too far in on my application. I'm hoping to have half-orc for my race with Human Raised and Burning Assurance alternate racial traits to represent the peaceful life she's lived. I know the desert part of the Burning Assurance fluff doesn't really fit but the extra confidence coming from a half-orc founding family does, and I couldn't find a better thematic substitute for Intimidating.

@Bookworm
I just have to ask how does a family maintain being half orc for generations upon generations? There have been no outsiders in at least three or more generations as well and a lack of threats in the outside world that is closest to them. While some half-races would work, one of the founding families may be elven and with the breeding and such, there are half, or halfling, or such things, but there would not be a full-blood orc set of families in this setting. |

Eirnan Wishwood
Eirnan Wishwood Character Name: Eirnan Wishwood. Age: 21 Race: Half Elf. Alignment: Lawful Neutral. Class: Sorcerer. Bloodline: Pestilence Bloodline. Traits:Traditionalist, Focused Mind Drawback: Helpless SHEET: https://www.rpgcrossing.com/profiler/view.php?id=79018 Appearance: Eirnan stands out, not because of his bright blue eyes or half elf heritage, but because of how sickly he appears. Ever since his youth he has always been getting sick, and it shows. His dark brown hair is medium length, and hangs limply off of his head. His body is lanky, his bones are prominent. While he appears as if he could shatter, he is actually more resilient than he looks. Speaking of looks, despite his sickly appearance (which is by no means deceiving,) he is actually very attractive. His characteristic frown makes him look older than he is, but his red nose and rosy cheeks contradict that. He has a small braid in his hair, that ends with an old elven ring. He wears many layers of clothing, always claiming to be freezing cold. He typically wears layered light brown or green robes, they look like the typical garment for someone indisposed. Flaw: Eirnan has always been taken care of. His meals cooked by his parents, his chores taken care of by his siblings. He is perfectly capable of doing many things, but will play up his sickness to get more leeway. It cannot be doubted that he is indeed sick, but he tends to over exaggerate when he feels it will get him pity. He is not used to doing things for himself, as he has always been given the easiest jobs out of pity. Fear: Eirnan is deathly afraid of being truly alone. He is more social than he seems, and although he frowns and tells everyone to go away, he loves being around people. He would rather die than be imprisoned alone without any friends. He likes being alone, but with people within shouting distance, because he enjoys company a lot more than he lets on. Another (lesser) fear that Eirnan has is Tetraphobia, the fear of the number four. While he won't freak out if someone says "4!" He thinks that bad things come in fours, and doesn't like the number. He does not want to sleep in the fourth room, and is happy to wait outside house number four, thank you very much. Biography: Eirnan is the second born child of the Wishwood family. He has an older sister, and two younger brothers. He had an older brother, but when he was 6 and his brother was 8, the sickness briefly changed hosts and quickly killed his brother. Eirnan still feels guilty to this day, he blames his brother's death on himself. He rarely joined in playing with them however, due to the fact that he was often sick. Nobody really knows how it came about, but when he was very young he got sick and never fully recovered. Eirnan comes across as antisocial and brooding, but he is actually kinder than he seems. He cares deeply about his family, and his village. His most prized possession is a small elven bead that he wears in his hair. It is made of silver, and each of his relatives has a slightly different story about it. His venerable elven great great grandfather insists that it is from the first world, claiming that one of the fae gave it to one of his ancestors. His aunt (who gifted him the family necklace,) tells him that it is just something that some elf made and their family happened to buy. His little brother, (who obviously knows nothing about it's origins,) starts crying whenever someone tries to prove that a magical gnome riding a dragon didn't magically burp it up after drinking too much of Aroden's blood, not to get into that imaginative little boy's theories about how Aroden died. Eirnan tries to avoid helping out around town, but his family forces to help him with their bakery. Of course, nobody wants the sick guy near the food, so they find creative uses for him. He groans and complains, but he secretly loves his odd jobs. Weather he is helping in the wheat fields, by somehow drawing all of the bugs and vermin to him, or secretly helping his mom with the icing of the cakes, he has fun. Nobody would buy the cakes if they knew that he had iced them, but his sickness doesn't seem to be too contagious. He is generally accepted among the villagers, but pitied. He never has had too many friends other than his siblings, not that he would want any (he very much wants friends.) His snide and sarcastic comments may anger some, but those who know him know that he rarely means what he says. In fact, many think that him calling a girl "ugly" means that he secretly likes her. He has never had any romantic relationships, if there are any women interested in him he wouldn't have noticed. Eirnan rather likes his little village. He sometimes has thoughts about leaving, but why would he? He has a relatively good life, staying inside and reading when he isn't being forced to help out. He secretly wishes that he could prove that he is more than the sick boy, but he has no real way to. When all he does is complain, sulk, and cough, it is hard for many to see him as more.
