Such has been my life for as long as I can remember... since Father insisted that I be conscripted into the guard for a year. The guard, can you believe it? Like Chain Mail would do a damned thing for my complexion. Thankfully, the sergeant at arms was more than amenable to earning some extra coin in exchange for light duties. And by light, I mean I just sort of wandered around with them while they did everything. And... I liked it. I mean, you wouldn't believe what people in the world get up to! All that brawling and violence is just so entertaining! But of course when I came home, I had to regale Father with my exploits so... maybe I fudged just a little bit. Where's the harm in it, right? Except now he's on about me doing more and better, it plays well for him with the King and I suppose I have to care about that sort of nonsense. He loves to fund my "expeditions" and I'm not averse to the coin, so it's become my habit to sort of... subcontract... these sorts of things. I missed the boat for this whole Myth Drannor thing, but that's alright, father has teleportation scrolls for just that sort of reason. So, I'll bring a few people along and we'll take up with whoever's there as well. It'll be glorious! I can't wait to tell Father all about how I'm branching into archaeology... Behind the Curtain In case it isn't obvious from the description, Percival is not meant to be the kind of character that... holds his weight. He's an idiot, a whiner, Neutral Evil but not in a destroy Metropolis kind of way, the evil is just an expression of the fact that he's extremely selfish and callous towards other people... and if he winds up doing something competent in a life or death situation, it'll be in spite of himself rather than due to any genuine heroics. Why do people bother keeping him around? Because he's rich. I'll be asking the DM if I can exchange attribute points (with the exception of Intelligence, since he's quite the brash know-it-all, most of his stats are mediocre to tanked) for additional magic items, and he'll have some value as a utility character mostly because keeping the riff raff happy is more comfort inducing than listening to them whine all the time. I don't know if he'll always be this way... who knows, maybe he'll learn something?... but I wouldn't count on it being easy to educate him.   Background: Noble Ideal: The world will come to realize that I am the most important and spectacular person in it. Bond: I must constantly find new stories of my exemplar nature to tell at court. Personality Traits: I absolutely MUST look my best at all times. / I am the embodiment of modern etiquette. Flaw: It's hard to name one. Let's just say that I have a uniquely narcissistic perspective on the world, and while that is obviously just a sign of my greatness, SOME people seem to think it's a flaw.

Uh oh, that's a really bad sign to a Lawful Neutral like Small. Rogues are bad, unnecessary. Scouts, on the other hand, those are good.
