For the record, I went back-and-forth on putting in an app several times. Ultimately, I just couldn’t convince myself I could keep up that posting pace for a whole game.
But if I did -
Rough Sketch
Hero's Name: The Kingsmasher
Real Name: Unknown, even to himself. So far evidence suggests that he’s from somewhere in Eastern Europe and that his real name probably started with an S but otherwise he doesn’t know. [Name was actually Tomas Schiervov, but he doesn’t remember it.]
Concept: Reformed Supervillain Anarchist given his first real break.
Identity: Secret. Kingsmasher’s true identity is unknown even to himself thanks to extensive attempts at brainwashing. He make it public if he knew it, but he does not.
Nationality: Unknown. Evidence suggests something eastern Europe, possibly under the Soviet bloc. [He’s actually from what is today known as the Czech Republic, but he doesn’t know that.]
Description
Hero - The Kingsmasher is a fitting title. 8 feet tall and at least half a ton, he looks like someone tried to fly him alive and replace his skin and flesh with some sort of metal. His limbs are large and exaggerated with his hands and end in only three fingers. On his chest is an inscription that originally read in Czech a passage that translates to “Faithful to God And King”, but it has been crudely defaced to now just saying “No Gods, No Kings”.
Disposition: Kingsmasher by name, Kingsmasher by occupation and he loves his work. A passionate political firebrand, he appears to be on a tireless crusade against abuses of authority. Part of this is fueled by what was an attempt to brainwash him into being a faithful lackey, and his mind ultimately rejecting the programming. Displays a surprising level of empathy for an 8 foot tall metal man.
Background:
Not that he remembers it, but he started life as Tomas Schiervov. A university student guilty of no crime but going to the wrong protest at the wrong time. One of several of the protesters vanished into the system with the arrests, he among the others were all subjected to a series of inhumane experiments that had the goal of mentally conditioning them into all being obedient super soldiers. Technically, he could be considered the only survivor but his mind and body were torn down and put back together enough times that it’s hard to argue that he still the same person.
The idea was that it deploy him against his creator’s enemies like a weapon, but somewhere deep inside the programming didn’t quite take everything. What exactly triggered the rebellion it’s kind of hard to say. Familiar location? A chance encounter with someone from his past? Someone giving him the wrong order of the wrong time? Either way, his mind came to violently reject the mental conditioning and he went from an authoritarian Lackey to an anti-authoritarian avenger and the Kingsmasher was born. The problem was that he put himself an opposition to anyone he viewed as abusing their authority - which sometimes didn’t line up with the public perception of said authority.
Recently, he’s gotten a chance he’s never had it before. Sometimes she’s targets weren’t publicly perceived as abusing their authority, and sometimes they very much were. And despite being publicly perceived as a villain, when he found out about a plot by actual Nazis to take over the United States of America and with the use of the corresponding nuclear arsenal, using them to take over the world, he actually assisted superheroes to fight off the plot and was instrumental in the resistance’s success. To his surprise, he was rewarded for his efforts with a full legal wiping of his slate by the President of the United States.
Now he has no idea what he’s going to do with the second chance he’s been given, but he knows he doesn’t want to waste it. Now he hopes to use it to save the world from the evil of authority. And with some allies and friends, maybe he could pull it off…
Complications: Anti-Authortarian, even when unnecessary.
An extensive list of past enemies with grudges.
A history that is mostly perceived as negative by the public, though with its good points, especially recently.
Deadened sense of touch.
Clumsy hands, to the point where it counts as a disability.
