Application You: Og or Oghain. I've been wanting to try my hand at Godbound for a long time, and have designs of running my own game someday. This time my character idea is partly inspired by an Age of Wonders 4 custom faction leader I made. Pre-Apotheosis Concept: According to folkstories, the Viridescent Grotto was first discovered several generations ago by a small group of farmers. Lost in the wilds, husks too close and Binai too far, they stumbled upon a cave none had seen before. Fleeing deep within, they took shelter in a moss covered cavern. Set in the ceiling, glinting in the faint light they dared keep, was a vein of serpentite that was taken to have a reptilian or serpentine suggestion by the farmers. Despite the odds, the husks never found them and they survived. In their minds this was thanks to the spirit that revealed the cave to them and watched over them. It was however not until many such occasions had occurred, as the cave become frequented as an emergency sanctuary, that any such spirit came into being. The spirit itself was barely more than a minor elemental in the beginning. Far from sapient and just capable of recognising when people sheltered within it, and only slightly more capable of protecting itself. Such acts in and of themselves only gave further reinforcement to the legend of the Viridescent Grotto, as it was called by then, and in turn further strengthened and matured the spirit. Demigod Concept: Words | Dragon, Sorcery, Luck** The Orm* is intended to be a kind of tutelary deity that watches over the environs surrounding Binai, and those who inhabit it, but not necessarily of Binai itself. Its power has come from the legend that grew around it and the Viridescent Grotto, ranging from its supposed physical manifestation to attributions of strange powers and the aversion of seemingly guaranteed fates. *Still workshopping the name. **Still thinking about 3rd Word Worldbuilding Exercise Hope is a fickle thing. A seed. Requiring fertile soil to grow. A hidden cave, wither desperation shepherded the hopeless. A fate anticipated now a fate forfended and the seed is planted. Cave becomes grotto becomes sanctuary. Fanciful attributions take root, growing into formidable aspect. A cave that saved by chance ripens to the Viridescent Grotto that protects with intent. Hope gives life to lifelessness. Scarred rock becomes that which it was imagined to be. All come to know: when the hour is long and Binai has shut the gate, seek out the Grotto to avoid your fate.

You: I'm Keante--most of my RPG playing has been with Pathfinder 1e along with some D&D 3.5/4e/5e. I've long been interested by alternatives such as Numenera and Godbound, but have not played them more than an all-too-brief intro.

Pre-Apotheosis Concept: Melaku Basliel was born a peasant in the Anderaccha Lowlands, living in one of the many small hamlets there. His father was a blacksmith, and they would frequently travel to one of the market towns to sell his wares. One day there was an Ulstanger raid that reached unusually far inland, and Melaku's father showed great bravery and strength in the battle, acquitting himself well. A Pavian knight witnessed this, and offered to take on Melaku as a squire. As a knight of the Pavian Order, Melaku grew in wisdom, discipline, in skill with a blade and a blacksmith's hammer, all while never losing touch with the common folk of Ancalia. After the coming of the Night Roads, Melaku protected the people of the Anderaccha Lowlands as best he could.

Demigod Concept: The awakening of divine power in Melaku has forged a connection between him and the very land of Ancalia herself, both the ground beneath and the air above. Melaku will continue to defend his people, and now with power beyond anything he has known before...

Worldbuilding Exercise The Dreamwell of Lalibela: Near the small enclave called Lalibela, situated within the Anderaccha Lowlands, there is an ancient well that has always provided good water and never run dry. In the last couple years, however, those who drink its water have begun to see visions--brief at first, but growing longer and even more vivid as they drink more over time. Some believe these visions could be prophetic, while others suspect the deceitful taint of the Uncreated to be at work here.

I forget where I found this character sheet originally--I copied it a long time ago. Since then I've modified some of the formulas (mainly using a SWITCH or an IFS where the original creator had used a bunch of nested IF functions) so that they're a little cleaner.

My in-progress sheet for Melaku is there, and I also made an attempt to fill in sheets for the current characters based on what I saw in the Characters thread. I wouldn't trust what I put in as the Exp Points and Dominion numbers, those were a little difficult for me to follow and figure out.

But anyone should be able to view this link, and then you can click File>Make a copy if you'd like to use it yourself. Here's the link. The yellow fields are ones you're meant to fill in, while the white fields typically have a formula in them that you don't want to manually override.
