[D&D-5e] Untamed: Secrets of the Amedio Jungle

Can you tell us more about Amedio? I'm considering making a Child of The Forest/Forest Guardian type character, looking out for the well-being of the Amedio Jungle and the animal denizens, but I need to know more about the setting first.

a specific subregion... but yes

There isn't a lot of information on that link. I now know there are Olman and Suel tribes, there are some volcanic mountains to the South, and there are intelligent apes called dakon

I will have to think on that. Not needing to eat, drink, or breathe is quite powerful for a PC. Give me a day or two to weeks go that please.

I don't have anything beyond what Alemar linked to. I will go through some more material and see if anything else pops, though.

It looks sort of MesoAmerican themed as opposed to Chult which had more of a Professor Challenger/Lost World feel. Am I picking up on the right signal cues there or way off?

Iron and Fire: Name: Faedra Smitestone Race: Mountain Dwarf Class: Barbarian Subclass: Berserker Mechanical Background: Guild Artisan Personality traits: -I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing right. I can't help it, I'm a perfectionist. -I don't part with my money easily and haggle tirelessly to get the best deal. Ideal: -Aspiration. I work hard to the be the best there is at my craft. Bond: -One day, I shall venture to my father's guild and show them that I am the best among them. Flaw: -I'm quick to assume that someone is trying to cheat me. -I am horribly jealous of anyone who can outshine my work. Everywhere I go, I am surrounded by rivals Appearance & Personality: Faedra is every bit five feet tall and close to two hundred and fifty pounds, muscled, curvy and stocky from many long days putting hammer to steel and pumping the bellows of her father's forge. Her skin is pale from her kindred but is often smudged as she doesn't shy away from getting a little dirty. Her hair is red and kept long but almost always tied back in braids and wrapped in a bun. While she cares little for the dirt on her body, she washes her hair almost every morning and every night if she is able. A Dwarf's hair bears ritualistic symbolism and if she doesn't respect many other Dwarven traditions, this one she cares about. She has intense brown eyes that seem to focus on the details of a situation. She is also fitted with a strong jaw that befits a mouth that speaks strongly when her opinion is asked of her. Outside the forge, she wears a loose jerkin and sturdy trousers, a thick belt at her waist and sturdy working boots. When she is hard at work in the forge, she is usually wearing just a leather apron with tool loops and a protective chest piece in lieu of a shirt so she doesn't overheat or catch the thin material on fire from ashes that might spring from the fire. She has several long scars across her shoulders from blocking bladed weapons and few burn scars from the forge. Faedra is a strong-willed and stubborn negotiator, always looking to get the best deal. She is a bit of a perfectionist and looks down on those who craft things with a slap-shod attitude for the sake of getting the job done. She holds herself to a Dwarven standard when it comes to her craft and she holds others to the same standard, at least in care. She never backs down from a fight and has a nasty temper that has gotten her into some rough scrapes but she has managed to survive them all. She loves creating in her craft and wishes to someday make a master item, something she can show the Guild but she knows that smithing isn't always going to put food on the table and has had to do other work in between her adventures, including dock work and bouncing at a tavern, jobs where she can use her muscles. Written Background: Faedra was born in the Principality of Ulek but shortly after, following the death of her mother, her father, Zaphod Smitestone, left the Principality in order to find a more peaceful place, away from the painful memories of his past wife. Faedra was raised in a human village and being the only Dwarf made her an outcast of sorts among the other human children. She didn't let this stop her though, it toughened her skin a bit and definitely taught her how to fight back when the situation called for it. Her father did his best to raise her the way any Dwarven father would, stories of adventure and such, lacking any memories of her mother though. As she grew into a teenager, she stepped into her father's forge and only left when her temper got the better of her. While he refused to teach her how to fight, for fear she would risk her life and limb on some wild adventure, he always urged her to not smith while she was angry, it poured the wrong emotions into the project. In time, he had her inducted into the Smithing Guild In Ulek, all she lacked was a fine piece to show as proof that she belonged among their numbers. Zaphod had a fair fit when he found out that some wandering mercenary had been teaching his daughter how to handle a weapon even if she favored the heavy smithing hammer that she used in the forge. It was a few years before she asked to strike out on her own and while her father wasn't happy, he had settled with the idea that he couldn't stop her. She got his blessing and set out on many a crazy and wild adventure. When she heard of the jungle of Amedio and that explorers were going, she just had to sign on, hoping she would find adventure, fame and some rare material to craft into a weapon that she could show off to the Smith's Guild in Ulek some day. 30 Minute (or less) RP Sample: The hammer came down, whooshing' as it cut the hot, dry air inside the forge, 'clang' as the hammer struck a piece of iron laid red hot across an anvil. Sparks fly and Faedra breaks the rhythm of her hammer swings to wipe the sweat from her brow with the back of her hand. She continues to strike the steel, rolling and turning it upon the anvil, using the horn to bend the iron just so, this was the twenty-fourth iron horseshoe she had turned out today, large enough for a plow horse but they were each one perfect at this point, having lots of practice. She quenched the shoe and dropped into a wooden crate that sat on the floor next to her anvil, filled with horseshoes. She laid down her hammer on the work table and knelt to lift the crate up and carry it over to a bench. No sooner than she let the crate 'thump' softly on the bench, a tall human with ruddy, tanned skin and tousled sun-bleached hair walked into the smithy, "Hello there, Fae, I see you have my shoes all finished." Zeke had ordered these shoes for his team of six plow horses, since he owned the most land near the village, "That's right, Zeke, that last one is hot out the quench as ya walked in." she leaned on the counter with a friendly smile then held out her hand, "That'll be two gold pieces a set o' four." Zeke balked a bit and 'slapped' a hand to his forehead, "But, Fae, you're da always sold them to me for a gold for four, Are you joshing me?" Fae shook her head, she knew old Zeke would try to swindle her and she knew that her Da wouldn't have gave them up so cheap, "What did you're vegetables make at market last week, Zeke? I bet those horses are mighty fine pullers when they are wearing Smitestone shoes, ain't they? Just pay the price for these amazing shoes and be on with ya." she haggled with the farmer.

No. Full character generation will be done once the group is selected. The rules were given so people can uage whether or not they wish to submit an application.

Since this is set in Greyhawk will the options for deities/other background information be limited to Greyhawk-only stuff? Clerics would be picking from Wee Jas, Kord, Saint Cuthbert, etc. for example.

Also would Plasmoids from the official Spelljammer sourcebook be an acceptable player choice if the player had a setting-appropriate reason for them unconnected to Spelljammer?

Like their character having been another species before being transformed by magic, cursed (or blessed depending on how you look at it) by a slime god/demon/whatever, somehow not totally digested by an ooze, ate the wrong plant, etc. and becoming a plasmoid?
