Basically, it all depends on the item and how it is used. In this game, you'll need them. I can almost guarantee that every item selected will get used and have an impact on the game and what happens. From the innocuous (Eversmoking Bottle) to the grand (the Bloodrage Greataxe), every item will have an impact. |

Okay, I took the image to a different site. Can you see it now?

Alright... I think I'll go with a Bag of Holding, then. The gods know my little fairy will be picking up every little thing that's not nailed down (and she'll just unscrew the kitchen sink)
Now for a question on magic: someone has just made you angry, so you turn them into a cow. What class would be able to do that? I know there's chaos magic for the sorcerer, but the only classes I'm passably familiar with are warlock, wizard, and sorcerer. From BG3. Someone recommended artificer, but I'm not too sure what an artificer can do. Any advice, anyone? |

Any class that can cast the Polymorph spell.

You've got to get pretty high level to get polymorph (other) in any class. For most other characters, the most fun item I've found was the bag of tricks. I had a tan one and I would name all the monsters I summoned (usually after flowering plants) and interact with them (better than I interacted with the other characters). Very good combat, decent utility, and a lot of fun.

And that would be Bard, Druid, Sorcerer, and Wizard. A Wizard with the Transmutation arcane tradition automatically adds this spell to their spellbook at 10th level if it isn't already there. In addition to that, you can cast the spell on yourself and change into a beast who has a challenge rating of 1 or less without expending a spell slot. I have been updating the FAQ in the first post of this thread to add either questions someone here has asked OR to add things that I forgot about when I created this abomination. Please make sure you keep up with reading that so nothing comes as a surprise down the road! Last edited by krossingkhory; Aug 20th, 2024 at 03:44 PM. |

In my mind, my fairy is the sort confound and confused; she'll distract you with a Hypnotic Pattern so her allies can beat you black and blue, and use Vicious Mockery religiously. She'll turn you into a newt for calling her short ("Who's Short now!?"), and force you to laugh at her bad jokes using Hideous Laughter.
But she'll also go Identify something to see if it's useful, or something she wants to replicate. She'll whimsically infuse your staff to give it +1 to spell attack rolls so it's a little less inferior, and she'll whisper insults into a miro fruit she finds lying around and throw it at a distant enemy (I read artificers can do stuff like that) So what am I looking for? EDIT: None of the artificer subclasses come close to matching the themes I'm going for, either. Are there... More? Somewhere? Last edited by Aisede; Aug 20th, 2024 at 03:52 PM. |

So, all of those spells that you mentioned are on the Bard spell list...and Vicious Mockery is ONLY on the Bard spell list. At least from what I can see, anyhow. So let's take a look at the different Bard colleges. Based on your statement about confusing the enemy/opponent, you might consider the College of Eloquence or the College of Lore. If you go by your statement about buffing party members, you might consider the College of Glamour or the College of Valor. If I were in your shoes - and I want to be clear that I am not telling you how to create your character, but rather stating what I would do with what you wrote - I'd go for the College of Glamour. You get the ability to imbue your allies with vim and vigor (+5 temporary hit points, plus they can move using their reaction at that moment without provoking opportunity attacks), as well as using fey music/magic to charm your opponents. All at 3rd level. And it only gets better from there. Again, that's if I were creating this character as a Bard. Personally, I'd rather go Human Wizard, take the Illusion school, and then use my 1st level feat to get access to the Bard spell list and pick up Vicious Mockery. But that's me, and that's a bit of min/maxing. |

The Bard class sounds like your best bet. It's the only class that has Vicious Mockery, and bards can buff allies similar to how she would boost their weapons. Later on, they can also get Polymorph. They're also jacks of all trades, so working in extra details is easy.

I can see it now, Jolly jangling her merry bells, dancing through the air and revelling in the worship of her mortal lessers.
"Yes, haha, YES! Worship your Jolly goddess!" |

Eh...? Neither of them are damaging and both will wear off eventually. Seems more likely to initiate some harsh words instead of deadly pvp combat. However, to each their own.

I would hope that whoever gets selected isn't going to initiate PvP with a group of characters that all want to play together.
