With everyone Prepped and ready to go. You all head out, A few other squads departing before you. Consisting of mostly human HoverBike scouts and a few Apc with heavy weapon mounted uptop. The convoy moves at a good pace and by mid-day you find yourselves a good two hundred or so miles from HQ. Nothing shows on the sensors and the only thing broadcasted over comms so far has been a few warnings about road conditions. |

Gideon meticulously and almost off-handedly disassembles and reassembles his weapons and make sure they are clean and perfect on the morning drive. As he worked on them he looked around the interior of the hovertank and nodded appreciatively. I thought it looked good from the outside, this is a sweet piece of equipment. Must be a bit of a pain to get reapirs though.

After a few moments of silence after Gideons comment the tank is paged by the APC housing the Psi-Stalkers, a cold monotonous voice hailing you over the radio, "We got possible enemy contact. Approaching from the northwest at a hundred kilos per hour.." Soon after the message is recieved a trio of dots appear on the hovertanks sensor displays.

Kevin responds. Copy. Contacts noted. Tracking and Targeting. Wait to confirm hostility before terminating.
Would you prefer to keep moving, or set up and wait for them? |

Why don't we wait for them to come to us, Bernie says as she tries to find a more concealed place to wait with the Glitter Boy. She then focuses on the targets with her advanced sensors and tries to ID them.

Flying towards the caravan are a duo of large, black, insectoid creatures flying about on leathery wings and with tails hanging low beneath their bodies and ending in wickedly serrated blades of bone. They seem to be persuing a rather large creature which resembles and armadillo and a rhino.

Kevin radios to the group, I'd say we let these go, unless they come looking at us for dessert.

The Psi-Stalkers in the other vehicle buzz over that they agree and end contact. Though if one where to casually look back theyed see that the main gun of the APC was now manned by a rather fearsome looking trooper, his hairless face covered in tattoos...
The Beasts descend upon the cattle sized horned armadillo beast and quickly dispatch it. Though as they start feeding a loud explosion can be heard at the front of the convoy, with a large plume of smoke and fire in the air and parts of the lead vehicle raining down around you. |

No need to dawdle, Bernie adds over the com as the creatures seem to ignore them and go after the strange beasts. I don't want to test Kevin's theory that thye might want us for dessert.

The APC resumes contact, "Understood. Just there as a precaution.. And Looks like it was good timing too by the look of that plume of smoke.." scattered bursts of gunfire can now be heard and more explosions shake the earth as a pair of strange looking vehicles, each standing on three spindly legs and sporting a pair of gatling guns and a main cannon seem to appear from nowhere to attack the convoy.
