New to Post-style D&D. Looking for 5e games.
My name is Mike. I've been playing lots of d&d in a face to face setting, but my life is changing in awesome new ways. My wife and I are having our first child within the month (a little girl we are naming Kiera). I'm devoting myself more to my wife and daughter which looks like leaving the games I was a player in. But while I can't be in 4 games that run for six-eight hours at a time for each I can commit to posting frequently. Please help me out as I'm very new to this site. Any advice or assistance is greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to playing with you all! Mike

Glad you joined us. 5e is very popular, plenty of games and players out there. COngrats on the child thing! Always loved the name Kiera... good choice.

Welcome to RPX!
The new player solo games are a great start. If you know 5e you won’t need those lessons but they also teach you some formatting and help you get started on the site. Have fun!

Welcome to the club chummer!
I was in the same boat recently. A new daughter and reduced gaming time. It's a little rough at first, but it evens out over time. I've since gotten one of my RL groups back up and running and this place fills the rest of the gap quite nicely. Thanks for joining, and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you settle in!

- or Mike, as you prefer - Congrats on your soon to be baby, and it is indeed the best reason to find your roleplay fix in a different way. When we had young kids we still tried to keep playing once a month but it was always at our place and sometimes one of us was carrying the baby in a carrier-thing to try and keep him/her quiet while trying to roll some dice. It IS do-able but it sure isn't very practical  .Anywayzzz, what have you been playing so fay, and are your gaming-friends also signing up? Have you looked around the site yet and maybe you have some specific questions already? I can recommend requesting a Solo game (link is in my signature) so you can learn about the site, play by post, dice rolling and so much more while you are being guided by a private DM. Best way to dive in. We offer Solo games for a variety of systems so feel free to have a look around before deciding. Most important though, welcome over here and hope you have fun
