The city states of Frubara
the rulers of this divided frontier Frubara is the the southernmost kingdom on the central continent we call Vanasia. It's a kingdom torn apart by ambition and greed. Since King Vitalis Le Quint's abrupt and untimely demise, his offspring and notable religious and political higher ups have been feuding and scheming against each other in order to gain more power in the kingdom. His children: Victoria Sunborn Le Quint, Vicoceous Rayn Le Quint, Vivian Flowers, Vitus Windbane, Veronica Madlavell, Verna Le Quint Gethers, and Viktor the Victorious are trying to claim their fathers throne. Victoria is the oldest and most particular of the group. She feels that because she's the oldest (some say the king's death is her doing) and has the largest castle, that she should be ruler. She's also the laziest of Le Quin's heirs, avoiding issues of her 'queendom' and never leaving her castle. By contrast, Vicoceous (Vi Co she us) feels because he is the eldest male (he's a suspect, too) and by far the most beautiful of his siblings, and that he should rule. There's little doubt that he is the most vain and careless, as well. Vivian Flowers is/was married to the late Count Reynaldo Flowers. Vivian is a sorceress and lives on an island rumored to be populated with demons. She is believed to be a devil-worshiper and wants the power of the throne to make Frubara a devil/demon-ruled land. Vitus is a man of the sea- a pirate. Valiant Vitus and his dreadful crew pillage the coasts. It's said he's rarely at his castle with his wife, Lady Clair Ravenwind, but at sea with his vile crew and mistresses. Veronica Madlavell lives at castle Mudd, the home of her husband Count Albert Madvell a once great alchemist. Veronica is a huge woman with a huge appetite. Lord Madvell has recently disappeared, and there are jokes made that she probably ate him. Verna Le Quint Gethers is an attractive woman that is on her fifth husband. It's said she gets tired of them and has them disposed of, but all of them are still seen around the castle; and there's something not-quite right about them. Viktor is the youngest and said to be the least sane of them. He is still a teenager and said to be very introverted. He's also very unstable and is known to fly into a rage whenever he is confused or upset. He lives with his sister, Verna at her castle. |

Niias :
Joffrey Stormwind III: nephew of the late king Joffrey Stormwind III rules the city of Niias. Niias pays tribute to the cities of Falibar and Callistra; respectively governed by Vicoceous Le Quint and Victoria Le Quint. Like Falibar, Niias is a pirate and rogue's paradise. Like Callistra, it's a major place of trade and political intrigue. Joffrey makes his home at Tidalwave Palace. It's said that the castle has a sub-section linked to the ocean where the waves come in. It's believed this is where Joffrey disposes unwanted and troublesome individuals. Trade: Niias trades with just about everyone; Ka'shan from the island of Bastl, Xiou from Han ashi, Javesta smugglers, Querri spice merchants, Yuan ti from tropical islands to the south, and wizards from the sky kingdom of Quatosia. They've also traded with lizardfolk from the swamp to the north, goblins from the hills to the north east, and the island of Luna (part of the kingdom of Quadosh), lately overrun by vampires, ghouls, and a plague. There are concerns about the plague, as ships overrun by undead have been found only miles from the city. Imports/Exports: The biggest imports are slaves, drugs (spice and snuff), liquor, exotic fruits, fish, silk, and perfume. Exports include leather, sheep and chickens, liquor, fish, lumber, and paper. Port Prince : Port Prince is a large town (they view themselves as a city-state of Frubara) on Shadow Island, a large forested island south-east of Niias, mid-way between Niias and Han ashi, the capital of the Xiou Empire. Port Prince is ruled by Ranaka Waverunner, an ex-smuggler and mercenary. Port Prince is one of Niiase's leading importers of slaves. It's also a haven for poachers and pirates. Seals, whales, sea turtles, and dolphins are among the victoms of poachers, and merfolk and sea-bats are among the slaves sold at Port Prince.
Port Prince is a dark place. The people don't take kindly to strangers and the it's said that evil spirits wander the forest around the city. The later, and possibly former, is due to the island being covered in shadow. It's not by some supernatural force that the island is usually dark, the floating city of Quatosia is directly above it, suffocating the island in darkness. Port Steam: Port Steam is located just south-west of Niias, on the island of Narbakka. Lord Reginald Halis, en ex legionnaire and general of Le Quint's armies, rules this city. The city of Port Steam, is, unlike most of Frubara's cities, organized and somewhat lawful. The code of conduct there is very strict and the punishments are harsh. Halis is a no-nonsense type. He has lived life in the military, and translates that life to his subordinates. Port Steam gets it name from the many guisers that spring up around the island. As well, Port Steam is reputed for it's manufacturing of steamboats and war-jacks (mechanical steam-powered 'robots'). Port Steam does not trade much, but they'll give up just about any resources for guns. New Hope: New Hope is the city ruled by Verna Le Quint Gethers. It's located on the island of Lovias, rumored to be a tropical paradise. There are many tales of sailors that found their way to Lovias, only to end seduced by the island's beauty and the beauty of island's many exotic women. The people of New Hope does not export much in goods, preferring visitors to come to them. Exotic fruits, plants, and pleasures of the skin are for sale here. Ghost Island, Rock Island, Spider Island, Wood Island, Long Island: Five islands ruled by five sisters. Each island with different perils. Skull Island: A skull-shaped island rumored to be the resting place of Struthers McKay, a noted pirate; and the resting place of his treasures that he plundered for nearly sixty years! Mah ha hara: A tropical island an homeland of the Bhukaki. Gorgon's Head Island: The tales say that the Gorgon, Nyshovvah, was decapitated by the Goddess Quilandria, and that her head was thrown into the sea. Where it landed, an island formed. The island is oddly shaped, somewhat like a head with snakey masses. On the north-side are many great weed beds that make landing there difficult. Because of the island's reputation and location, few are believed to ever travel there. There are many more islands in The South Sea Region, including the Ka'shan homeland Bastl, and the Yuan Ti homeland Sliveriss. Each island offers differant dangers and rewards. |
