Chapter 2 Part 2: The Play's The Thing

[Elucidus]

She happily shakes his hand, "Keira Sage..." She pauses a moment and looks around suspiciously...a moment later she finishes. "Brightmantle." As if her family name might bring about some sort of doom upon her. "My father owns a bak...owned a bakery in town." She corrects herself as her smile fades. "I can certainly find you a store to help. So a hired sword? How did you get into that line of work if I may ask." She continues evenly, slowly coming out of her shell.

[Humble Athena]

"Thank you. Pleasure to meet you, Miss Brightmantle." Although Jackson's hand is large and already beginning to callous, his shake is as gentle as it is firm, strong but careful not to cause undo harm to the hand within his fingers.

"From what I can see, it's a pretty common occupation for men like me." He responds, with a light smile that shows he doesn't begrudge his lot in life. "I was born and raised in the wilds, where most dangers are physical. It's just what I know best." He gives a small shrug.

[Elucidus]

"Fair enough." She says, admitting that that would probably be the best line of work for him. "I guess we should be going?!" She wasn't really sure what came next.

"Alright, alright, sure. Thanks." He can't help grinning. Now that the play is over, he has money in his pocket, and at least someone is willing to treat him like, well, a person, things are looking up. "So, what about you?" He asks the young woman, taking up step beside her. "What made you decide to risk your life for the theatre? Or did you not know how dangerous it was going to be, either?"

[Elucidus]

She smiles. "I had an inkling, but that is a story for another time."
