I was already wondering, how easy vampires are to identify as such and now it has alread become an issue ingame. Looking at the picture in the Bestiary it shouldn't even involve a roll And if vampires and werewolves are somewhat common in this setting most people would know, how the look or how to spot them, right? Like recognizing the cast no shadow ...

Also I'd like to know what the Paladin is doing what would cause the ability damage and if it is some kind of spell-like ability or like that, could we spot and identify it?

And I must say, getting into the head of someone just because you don't like what he said, playing with the mind of mortals, lulling them into loosing their reason - that kind of behavior is exactly why vampires are evil creatures. Way to go paladin of pelor Well, at least you didn't use that dominate-ability :P

Ryuken: The will damage was in jest. Such is the matter of critical failures. The gnome failed so hard at comunicating his desires to Decarde that he mistook him compeltely.

Ryuken, yes most people in Varantha wound know what a vampire looks like, though some can look like a normal human despite their paler skin tone. Since most of the peasants are the same pale skin as well as half-elves and elves. Though with Decarde's hair color would set him apart from others and some would think he's one of them dark elves they heard about from travelers and sailors from the harbor. So yes most would know right away, while others would think he was some weird elf or darkelf. Even though they would be afraid of vampires and werewolves. If one came up and told them they were one of those creatures. Trying to send them back to the hells they came not very well though lol. Yes I agree that is wrong to get into some ones head and control them, though since most of the vampires don't use that ability to feed on humans. Instead using it for mostly diplomacy in case a situation goes bad. There are still those few rogue vamps that use it to feed on innocents or turn others into vamps.
