You can do whatever you want to him I guess, but his injuries aren't bad enough to kill him. Just make him bloody. Either no medical care was needed or it was taken care of by he and his friend before you showed up.

@zev I don't want to make another in game post until more people have had a chance to respond, but I'm not sure what prisoners are tied and which aren't, or how they are tied. They are all pretty docile since they are afraid of you guys, so it doesn't matter much. I was just going to leave it at whatever you were thinking.

Three bandit types tied with hands in front of them, but enough space between the hands so they can pick something up if they have to. That's just for ease of play later in case letting them hold crates as shields is a viable idea.

Two that were headed to the fort with silverware, I'd say tied as well, but more room between hands so as they can tend to their own cart a bit. That is, I think their cart was well off enough to be taken to the fort as well.

Can we just assume for ease of later descriptions that there's two carts? One with our original shipment, one with whatevers been salvaged along the way?

How distant are said howls? Is that something that would be common knowledge considering how much time Demian spends in the woods, or do you want some sort of dice roll for that?

You don't have a horse to pull the second cart though. The one pulling the other cart was killed.

You don't have to roll dice, they are pretty far off. Just a response to he first howl.

Then either the prisoners were tied loose enough to try to pull the cart or the good stuff from that cart was transfered to ours. Whatever's easiest for you.

Honestly when you said let them bring their cart my first thought was, "That's just mean." so I've been half thinking that they were pulling it themselves the hole time, and half thinking you left it or moved the stuff to the other cart. Personally I like the first one, but again it's not important really.

1. All the wreckage we've found and scoured, and the prisoners couldn't find so much as a crate lid to use a shield?

2. There's at least 10 people in this expedition, and a roc overhead. If we're hearing wolves get closer and closer, we'd be on the lookout for sure. Are you really saying that all of us were surprised by a wolf? Not one single person noticed it before it bit the injured guy?

3. In regards to the carts and equipment...if you've been half thinking one thing, and half thinking another...why didn't you have us sort that out days ago?

1. You didn't tell them to get a shield, so I assumed they hadn't.

2. Of course you noticed them, so did he. They were waiting for a chance to jump out, and they got it when he turned his back.

3. Once again, it's not really relevant. You have one cart or two, the only time it would matter much is with the battle grid. I was planning on putting just your cart. It is very possible that the cart pulled by the prisoners is just a bit up ahead and out of the way, or that you didn't bring it. Either way the prisoners can run and hide behind you guys and by your cart. Ever read The Metamorphosis?

@Lazers: While I do like the notion of a supersized Jamuss, I had secretly stated that if wolves were closing in, I was going to use the rest of that attack round I just had to get in a Move Action so I could be in melee range in the upcoming round, if any more wolves appeared.

So Jamuss might not be near your character, and if we find ourselves seperated by many map squares, and I wouldn't want you to risk being chomped by wolves just to run up to get into a close spell range.

@IW2RP: I told them to search trhough wreckage and find anything they could defend themselves with. Not my fault they didn't pick up a broken crate lid or piece of a wagon wheel.

And reading Kafka shouldn't have anything to do with noting how many carts are part of our caravan.

Anyone else want Enlarge Person? I apologise for my lack of contribution but a cha of 10, not having control of the prisoners, and being a 1st level wiz with no spells (yay, they are back) has rather reduced him to snarking about.

I was just saying that Kafka leaves what Gregor looks like to the imagination, and his change is the focus of the story. I think it's safe to leave how some things are transported to the imagination in this story. And your right, it's not your fault they didn't, they wouldn't be able to do much anyway. Just do your best to keep them alive if you want, I only killed the gimpy one.

@Lazers: Being as though there's been a couple posts where gametime advanced by many hours, if there's something more you wanted to say in regards to the prisoners, I dont think it would hurt if you mentioned it in your next post as something you had said in passing. Or something you were about to say when the whiny thankless one got his throat ripped out.

@DM: I'm only seeing the red and brown colored boxes on the map. Do you want us to place ourselves where we like?

@zev yeah I still don't have much of a marching order. Besides you knew the wolves were around so you could have easily positioned yourselves accordingly.
