This isn't easier at all; the Archlord of Kittens is actually the Duke of Lies in disguise!

So what's the score here?
This looks rather interesting. I am looking forward to seeing this develop. Questions: 1) "System: Pathfinder (3d6 not 1d20)" What exactly is going on here? Is this humor or am I unique in never having heard of a 3d6 version of Pathfinder? 2) Are you planning on having a dice thread?

I was just assuming people would roll at the bottom of their posts but if you think a dice thread would be beneficial, I could be convinced. As for 3d6, I've found it makes characters a bit more predictable. This is especially useful when it comes to skill checks such as stealth and climb. A fumble is essentially a 3, a crit is an 18 (old 20) or 17-18 (old 19-20), etc. I can post a poll if you think people would much rather use the standard 1d20.

I would personally really rather have a thread to roll in. If nobody else wants it then give me a private thread and I'll be fine.
3d6 vs d20... I think I saw a guy roll a "d20" with a d10 and a d6 once. He said it was what they used before they had d20s. It was all too quick for me to pick up on, but it was interesting. As long as there is a chart to easily refer to then I am willing to branch out. The only branching out I've done before was a game of Exalted and possibly Mutants and Masterminds, I don't recall what that system used. And I guess how can i forget the great and wonderful Cthulhu. So looks like I'm more experienced than I thought.. I guess all that is left to say is bring it.

No problem, I'll put an easy reference chart up in the house rules thread when I get a chance. As for the d10 plus d6, that's a little complicated to fathom the statistics for chance of crit.

It would have been the first version of dnd I am sure. Still, I have no idea what he was talking about.
Also, how do you feel about the material in pfsrd? Some of the third party stuff is interesting. In the creation rules you said "Class: Any", I am just wondering how far you meant to go with that.

I am a pretty lax DM when it comes to class/equipment selection. You're welcome to use any 3rd party class that doesn't give you finger of death at will. Just double check with me before you build the character.

Hey Doderic! Yes, it has been a long time. As you can see I haven't been spending much time on the site. But I should be able to keep up with this game.

Hmm ok... Edward Deathhands versus the Chinese finger trap of doom! Should be a good showdown.

So, role check! I'll start. Creepy magus with a dash of evil. I'll have a good amount of face skills covered as well as being a solid, consistent damage dealer.

I'll be a scout. Haven't really put too much into the character as it seems like things are still a work in progress at this point, but I have decided on my class and possibly race and maybe even a bit of background as well. So scout is like rogue I suppose, has a dash of sneakery, a bit of marital and an option for face time as well. If Jack is planning on doing some face time then either I can compete with him and try to be humorous without botching the diplomacy checks, or I can back off the face a bit. Although technically I claimed it first, but it was in my private thread so it probably doesn't count. Whatever.

I was mostly integrating face skills due to being the most well-versed in the realm and lore. I'm going pretty dark and manipulative though, so other character(s) being able to make their own social checks will probably be useful. Alternatively I can back off the face stuff and use my traits for something more useful; I'm pretty variable. I know we'll have a sorcerer as well, which will likely have decent social skills simply by merit of charisma boosting.
