Sorry I'm taking so long to post...I have no idea what to write.
Assuming Marra reacts to Efrin, she's storming out. Irving was obviously told not to do what he's doing, so let's just assume she's gone by then. But then Voodoo wants to talk to her, with smoke and chairs in the middle of their shop no less, and I just don't even know what to say to that because I'm having a hard time even envisioning the beginning of that situation. So...lemme just stare at these last few posts for a bit and try to wrap my head around some way to not invalidate all or part of most of them.

Stay and chat.
![]() There's sticking to character and then there's playing the game. If you storm out of every situation, you aren't really playing the game anymore.

Yeah, I ask that you all mold interesting but viable characters that are capable of playing with the other characters

Ahhh! She's totally capable of playing the game! I just went on my first instinct in the initial situation (that they would have to prove they could be trusted) and it's spiraled all out of control. It's like how some people are capable of being great friends, they just never get the chance because their natural interactions result in them never hanging out.
I told Wulf, I have a plan to bring her back in line, but it's a multi-day plan, not a right this moment plan. Quote:

That's a really silly list. You should just start talking to voodoo. That stuff is going to take a month of real time to resolve and it's mostly solo. So if you really want to play you're going to just have to make some compromises.

There. She stayed in the building. Woooooo. The segue from her last comment to Voodoo's questions is contingent on whether he'd still like to talk after she asks everyone to leave. Although Zane can probably tell you, she isn't tremendously talkative. Can't we save the campfire icebreakers for the actual campfire?
And as far as I can see, any of those plans is a two-post deal. Are they not? They seem like two-post deals to me. I'd even settle for just having any amount of time pass between the current situation and their next interaction. Maybe I've just gotten myself in too deep. I made this weird suspicious loner character and we're all finding out the drawbacks of being a suspicious loner.

There, hopefully they will all respect the forge master and they can work with discipline for a few days. Maybe Irving's mastery of the forge will impress Marra enough to earn some respect.

I guess I can't help but feeling short changed by this turn of events. I thought I'd come up with a pretty solid approach to initiating a dialogue with our new prospective companion and before anything could be done with it we were all told to get out by a frustrated smithy. Now there's an opportunity to try again but there is an encounter starting so I'm doubtful that we will get a chance to have a discussion before we are thrust into a mission. This is something that I find very frustrating, but it seems like forces are in play and that's the way it's gonna be...

Sorry man, I'm sure you'll get your chance at Marra at some point. I'm the one who shortchanged you, not Brian, and it's because my character is meant to be the farthest thing from an open book imaginable. After I read Voodoo's first bit of dialogue about not wanting to trust her with information about the mine it only made sense to me to have her agree with that; it is, after all, nearly the self-same sentiment she expressed to Zane and then Efrin. Moving from that to a relaxed sit-down complete with personal questions didn't make sense to me, so I initiated asking everyone to leave.
If it's any consolation, had she spoken with the scout her answers would have been as evasive and non-informative as she was with Zane; there's really no reason for them not to be. So far she's glared at Voodoo, called him dangerous, and stated that she hates politeness: even if I didn't have my own idea of her in my head, I thought I was doing a decent job of painting a picture of exactly the kind of character that would not respond well to being politely asked to sit down and answer personal questions within minutes of a first meeting. There's plenty of time for talking before we have to go on a mission together. In-game, there are at least two more days of crafting and hanging around town to go. Also in-game, I'm sure there will be a wealth of opportunities for interacting with her in small "teamwork" situations (like this one, and like Irving aiding her in weapons crafting) where you and others can perhaps try a different tack toward getting her to talk to you.

That's fair. I wasn't exactly trying to point fingers, I was just expressing my feelings. I feel better after reading what you just wrote. Thanks.

Cool.
Hey, can't Incen anchor the web to the building wall and the street? Like a cobweb in a corner?

Ah, curses! The slight differences between 3.5 and pathfinder catch me again!
You're right Fuzz, I can anchor it like that, in 3.5. I did not realize the spell is different in pathfinder. Wulf, I opt to cast ray of enfeeblement instead. It won't be as useful as web, but might still help... Man, just as I thought I had the perfect spell for the situation... ![]()
