Ten-Minute Background Step 1: Write 5 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character. These can be a concept overview, a list of important life events, a physical description, a personality profile...whatever you need to get an image in your mind. 5 is just a minimum...more elements are encouraged! 1) Kaneo has always had a literal dream where he is surrounded by riches, however the dream soon turns into a nightmare and he is assaulted by many elements and at the end he always sees himself consumed by flames as he screams. 2) Kaneo egg was incubated near where all the elements gathered, as such he has been touched by them. Step 4: Describe at least three people that are tied to the character. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you. 1) Kaneo loves to visit Skie’s treasury and dream about things he could one day own. Though she knows he is flat broke, she still tolerates him to “browse”. Though she definitely keeps a sharp eye on him when he does. 2) For the same reason Kaneo likes to visit Skie’s treasury so is the same for his visit Tygot’s shop. He loves the stories that is wrapped up with each antiquity and constantly asks about the places where they were found. 3) Early when arriving into the Cauldron Kaneo walked into one of the Alameda Moneylenders shop’s. Immediately the tengu was verbally assaulted with racial slurs and accusations. Since then Kaneo shares the same feeling for the dwarven family. Step 5: Describe three memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor. 1) Kaneo likes to see his reflection. It amazes him to no end. 2) Kaneo likes to click the tips of his claws together when he sees something he likes. (Think Mr. Burns from the Simpsons). 3) Kaneo remembers the sneers and jaunts when he told his flock of his dream. By passed on stories they knew that the world was not kind to Tengukin. He often uses the memory to keep pushing forward.
