Alrighty. Gox, Hound and NAW, I still need to do a review pass on you three; everyone else has gotten a review. 9 out of 11 of you have checked in; suburbanplankton and OneDarkness are the only ones I still need to hear from, so I'll send them both a PM right after I finish writing this and make recruiting decisions based on their responses. But I'm not going to wait to get the new recruit(s) up to speed, I think you've all waited quite long enough. We'll just add them mid-game as appropriate when they're ready.

I have finished my initial review and answered everyone's character questions up to this point, and here's where we stand:

5 characters out of 12 are officially approved for play.
2 characters out of 12 need only minor adjustments.
3 characters out of 12 need major adjustments or their sheets were unavailable for review.
1 character out of 12 has an MIA player.
1 character out of 12 has dropped.

Unfortunately, both the MIA player and the dropped player are Rebels, so I can't just go 5/5 and call it a day. I have reopened the recruitment thread to take new rebel apps; if the MIA player doesn't check in by the time I've got two good ones, I'll make the swap out. As I previously stated, I'm not going to wait to start for the new player(s); as soon as the 5 remaining characters are approved, we launch.

Some time today or tomorrow I will update your tactical maps with open assignments, so that you can discuss where to send your forces (or possibly even choose to investigate one of them yourselves).

It has come up for several of you that I don't play with the Use Magic Device skill. In case I missed anyone, let me say it publicly - I don't use that skill. On the rare cases that I would feel a need to, I just use Spellcraft instead.

Similarly, any ability or feat with UMD as a prerequisite, treat it as Spellcraft is the prerequisite instead.

Got 4 applicants so far for the 1-2 vacancies. Very promising people, I told them to stop by and say hi and ask you rebels for advice in secret text if it struck their fancy.

I haven't seen any forward movement on any of the unverified apps. Given how much everyone had to wait on me, it'd be hypocritical of me to be a hard butt about it, I'm mentioning it mostly to make sure everyone knows it's not me this time.

Public shaming Clarification on who's not checked off will be available in a few days, just in case someone's not sure if they're good to go. (Anyone who is would have seen the words "This character is approved for play" in their private thread.)

EDIT: Oh, except it is me a bit, I forgot the open assignment thing. I made them but I didn't post them. I'll do it after church.

Well that's good to hear. Honestly, Hound's departure demoralized me to the point where I'd basically said, "Welp, screwed this thing up."

Not to throw Hound under the bus, it's definitely my bad that I took (am taking) so long to get this off the ground, but readjusting for his absence after I'd had almost all my ducks in a row was like, GAAAAAAAH.
