This is just me wondering but if Kangsthor says it's a time unit, definitely, then how can Medesha's posting of the definition prove his claim correct. Nevermind, I don't have the time or inclination to unravel the confusion.

Point is Sym, Fast heal happens during your turn on your initiative.

Perhaps this could be confusion from the D&D PC games (NWN, Baldur's Gate). In them, a "turn" was often mentioned in spell duration, for example.

In d20 turn is not a unit of time as far as I can see, but (as Medesha said) merely a place in order. You wait your turn in initiative, you don't heal with fast heal until your turn (in initiative)...it seems all references to "turn" are paired with initiative either implicitly or explicitly

-me

(PS: 100 pages...is it time to start a new volume of Ask the Sage?)

Yes but the distance from your turn to your next turn (the round) is accually six seconds. I guess thats how people use it for time.

Thanks all for your help with the issue of how long a turn is with specific reference to "Fast Heal"! Your answers have been very informative!!!!

OK - In a gestalt game, If I take a savage progression, do I gain feats as my normal half, or the wacked out savage half?

Erm... I'd say by hit dice. Your average savage critter gets 1 hit dice over several levels, so... Hmmm... I guess it depends on whether a d8 or whatever is deemed "greater than" a non-existant HD, or whether they aren't the same thing. Like how something with a 0 Str score isn't the same as something with a -- Str score.
