[Game Thread] Chapter 6c: A Shadow Over Feid

Kala's return pulled her attention from wherever it had been. Seeing her with a swarm of well-meaning followers was sufficed to halt her stride toward her, by fear of further suffocating the poor godling.
She saw it as Kala trying to maintain her dignity and that was reason enough stay way.
Pretend the great healer was not displaying weakness.

Her eyes stared coolly at back of Morgan's head as he made plain what should remain unsaid and so embarrass his friend. In front of her retinue no less.

At the mention of an additional person that needed to be revived, she couldn't help thinking about Scion. Would that they could bring him back and solve that disaster among the Dragonblazes.


As they are about to teleport away, she motions Adam closer. Clenching her jaw. "Hold on to your vertebrae. It punches something uncanny."
She was getting used to it but going through was always quite unpleasant.
Seeing Valen later didn't surprise her all that much. It was a good idea, really. Valen had special magics and his sacrifice had been most valorous. That his soul was trapped sent her the memory of the Divine Soul Gem, although such measures may not have been necessary.

She started at the news on the Halvan army. They had expected Zera to strike soon, now that the Dragonblazes were incapacitated, and so they had. Nothing so surprising about that.
That he would make use the blue woman was no surprise either. Although even had not a single soldier survived, the cause would not have been so hard to guess.

As for the multi-armed being whom had saved the day. Nevh whispered in her mind. Memories flowing in. Mrith seemed shaken a little, and unsure of what she was saying.
"That description... Shiva... Siva? Perhaps powers that have not been reported. And another persona yet unmet."

She shook her head.
"Perhaps a new one, certainly. Could an illusion be made to... hum, their? Yes, their likeness? We could then perhaps consult with those among these unknown new allies that we already know and confirm a few things. Perhaps use their likeness with our Elernan contacts. If they are indeed Shiva, we could be fortunate and finds a path to establish contact, yes?"

An easy shrug and reluctant smile.
"Whoever that was, that they fought the Blue Lady is good news, for now, whatever their reason."

[DM Note - While Kala would probably be fine with giving Adam a 'lift' to Halvanna if he asked and they wouldn't be able to stop him going with them to the temple if he wanted to, he would not be allowed into the Palace.]

Adam Adam resumed the emerald eyed human form using the draconic innate abilities of his current form as the Mirth motioned him closer. A most compelling offer. As they are about to teleport away, she motions Adam closer. Clenching her jaw. "Hold on to your vertebrae. It punches something uncanny." "Well, I don't have any other plans tonight... lead on and I shall follow." Adam said mirthfully to Mrith's offer. "I am sure that it can't be that..." Then the magic of whatever... whoever... it was that was transporting them took a hold of him and it was a rather jolting experience as they were collectively propelled through the fabric of space. And then suddenly they were back in the now and in whatever place they were supposed to be. "...bad." Adam said as he tried his best to suppress the jarring experience of the ride. It was only after a a couple of long moments that he realized he was indeed holding onto vertebrae as Mrith had advised... only it was not his own. He looked upon on likely a very surprised Mrith as he was clutching onto her a bit more tightly than was appropriate. While it felt nice, it was not good manners as he released her quickly afterwards and apologized sincerely. "Ahem... sorry, I guess I underestimated the experience... I have teleported before, but just goes to show that not all teleports are created equal. Maybe we will need that drink after all..." Adam watches quietly as the initial drama unfolds as the entourage arrives at the Temple and beyond it the Palace where the King resided. The scene was interesting as the divine powers were not enough to restore those slain... obviously of some importance, but he had been away on his sojourn for so long that he lost touch with the politics and the in's and outs of the kingdom. He would have to ask Mrith about when they got a quiet moment together. When the guards barred his way into the palace, Adam simply acknowledged and took his time. He had felt that they... perhaps with Mrith's unspoken endorsement was the only thing that perhaps had gotten him this far. "I'll be right here when you get done with... whatever it is that you dealing with in there." Adam gestured a farewell greeting to Mrith. "Perhaps I will be able to find us a decent bottle of wine by that time. Until later then, fair dragon." "So, where do you fine gentle folks keep your wine?" Adam asked cheerfully as he turned to the guards that barred the way.

Adam would have felt the flesh and muscles beneath the skin of her back to be much tougher than what would be expected of her frail-looking frame. She started at his grip nonetheless, giving a mute glance back that fully expected that whichever imbalance had just transpired in the universe was about to correct itself.
Then listened to his apology.
"Yes. It inspires the thorough vibration of an arrow through wood as we pierce through the country's wards."

Later, when they parted ways, Mrith looked at him then cast a brief thoughtful glance back toward the palace gate before turning back to him again.
"O brave Sei, it may well be we'll need something a bit stronger than such. I prefer whites, in any case. Fruity and soft yet not too dry."
She would make a short bow in return. "Do take care. Until then."

Adam - Parting is such sweet sorrow... "I am on it. Strong. White. Fruity. Soft and not too dry." Adam says earnestly with a salute. "I and it, shall await you when you return from whatever it is you have to go do." As per his promise, Adam located and procured the bottle of the strongest wine that fitted Mrith's request. He had the time to methodical and particular, after all who knew how long her little thing was going to take.

Vulcar frowns in thought for a moment, as if unfamiliar with the name. "Who?"

"Nevh was looking into them as a possible point of interest earlier in the investigation." Zilira provides. "As I understand, they were proving quite elusive, but sightings had them heading in this direction. Judging by some of the stories about them, she believed they may have had some connection with Zera, which would certainly explain their unique situation and great power with little training."

"Sounds good." Morgan agreed. "We're certainly going to have a lot of questions to ask these Gods." That last part was added more thoughtfully, almost as if to himself.

Morgan doesn't look so sure. "Maybe, but I'll reserve my thoughts for now, just like with these Unknown Gods. There's just too many questions at the moment and with Zera we can't afford to be too trusting."
