What's a good idea for a game?

Here is my favorite workflow for coming up with game ideas:

Take a very simple game concept, that isnít special in any shape or form.
Prototype it really quickly and look what players are doing in your game.
Implement mechanics that encourage them to do exactly the opposite.
Let me give you an example:

2D Jump and run platformer.
You jump.
Every time you jump, you lose a life.

We suspect this is spam. We could be wrong.

So, I am closing this thread. Of we are wrong, Simonlee, please let us know. It's Squeak's fault, and we will apologize.
