Congrats! It's hard to make the jump to writing again.

Great to hear that you got the writing bug back!

My good is that my twins (a year and seven months old) recited the alphabet today.

I'm going to necro this thread for kicks, because I'm in a state of cautious optimism. I've been in a funk for a while and trying to pull myself out of it. My work got more erratic and stressful last year, but in the past month I've been writing again in the blank spaces, bouncing between short stories and worldbuilding just to try to get the routine back in place outside of PbP. I've also made myself some commitments to broaden my skill set, maybe even take a short course or two if I can manage it (both physically and financially). I don't make new year's resolutions by default, but I guess I'm doing something similar here at any rate.

The faithless milk-drinker is just under a month old now. He's been a handful to say the least. But it was looking for ways to scratch the RPG itch while staying at home to look after him that got me investigating PbP games. So, here I am!
So, happy 3rd birthday to your kid?

A few good things:

RPG Crossing and the RPG Crossing community have donated more than $20,000 to mental health research in the past 11 years! Wow!

My younger child plans to set off for higher education this year. Big milestone. Also, I have strong parental bias but love my two kids dearly and think they've turned into incredible young adults. Feels good.

My wife and I have 3 new 2-player board games to try.

Having taken a new job and moved 700 miles, we are now settled in to our new home, and have begun to look for places we can volunteer to be a foster PET parent. We had previously worked with Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida, and found out there is a Lab Rescue organization here nearby, and we have joined them.

We got our first Foster dog a couple weeks ago, and I can honestly say, someone will be getting a really good boy. He's a big lab, black with a weird blonde undercoat which makes him look brindle in some light. And he's just what you think of for a lab. Calm, but playful in the yard, loves to simply be next to you on the couch, chilling for the evening. He's smart too, took him about two days to figure out the morning routine. Crate trained, housebroken, just a big galoot. loves to be with our other dogs, but also quite happy to hang with his people and just be an only boy... so long as he gets petted and can be near you.

We'll see who gets to be the lucky people to have him in their life.
