Finding your way around the site alright. Lots of threads to peruse while you get yourself aquatinted with the site, but that means lots of fun stuff to learn as well.

Yeah I am, the community here is really encouraging! Mostly interested in getting into a newbie solo game at the moment, I've got an idea for a druid lurking around in my mind, but no idea how to actually play a Druid.

BUT FIRST, waiting on the New Member tag to expire. And obviously a slot to open in the new member games. Which, I'd like to add, is an absolutely grand idea. Takes some of the pressure of getting into a site like this that's well established and what not.

Its definitely more than 48 at times. Unfortunately, we have a limited number of DMs. A good indicator is the list; if there is a significant number, the wait could take a while.

Oh apologies, I wasn't clear. I meant that I thought the New Member tag was a 48hour thing. I understand that there will be a wait for a newbie game, doesn't stop me from being excited though XD

@MagicPen: Having a solid idea of what you want to play is a good step forward for a solo game.
My advice on how to go about playing your character.

1. Read the section of the Player's Handbook on Druids. Just have an idea of what a single druid can do, wield, and wear at 1st level.

2. Check the list of 1st level Druid spells. If you like how one sounds on its short description, read the full write up of it in the spell section.

3. Choose your animal companion. This is a major step when creating your druid. Choose the animal, imagine how it looks and acts, so you can describe it when you post. Decide how your druid will interact with it. Are they best friends of many seasons? Is it a recently acquired pet with a bond being worked on? Is it the first companion the druid has had, or is it replacing another? How does the animal react around "two leggers" when its master has converstions with merchants or fellow druids?

You guys are great have I mentioned that yet? I feel like I can't say it enough. I hope I'm not being a bother here, I'm just feeling chatty XD

I was looking over the class description for druids and under the class features some of them have and (EX), this has always confused me a bit. At first I thought it had something to do with Ex-members of the class, but that's a whole 'nother section. Is it Extra, like a bonus feat? I'm really not sure anymore.

I imagine I'm going to find many of the people here to be quite likable, whether that'll be reciprocated is debatable, but well, such is life!

Like elsewhere in life, here you will find a broad diversification of people and their actions. I am sure you will find some you get along with and other you may not as much. The key is respect and patience. If you don't get along you can always ignore that user (with the exception of staff, in case moderation is needed). Find those that you enjoy playing with and you will have fun.

If there is anyone that is betraying the site rules then ou can always use the report button that is on each post and report that post.

Mainly though I think it comes down to your personal attitude and how you view things. Have fun, enjoy the games and the community and avoid the things you don't like and you will have a a lot of fun here. You are correct in your opening, many (or rather most) of the people here are quite likable.
