First, there is a hook of the Heavy Metal Forge looking for raw materials. Second, there are some crafting rules and there is already one PC looking to eventually get the raw materials (Dragon skin) for magical armor.

I decided to go with an artificer, because I have a character with building a reputation as an artisan, is it possible to build an shop or something like to run it as downtime activity? I was thinking in an alchemist though it's my first time thinking in that kind of character. What kind of stuff can you create with an alchemist supplies? I'll take the herbalist kit to make potion of healing and antitoxin s but I want to make other kind of potion like the one that give magic effects. Is that possible? And what kind of proficiency do I need? Sholdni choose some levels of wizard along the artificer?

Almost done planning out your mission to recover Gwenevere the Guardian's body.
See the downtime thread under read first and consult the Dungeon Master's guide. Alchemist can create alchemical items such as acid flask, potion of healing, alchemist fire, and so on. As for magical potions, most likely no or in very limited quantities. As for proficiency most likely alchemy proficiency and spell casting. I will have to review the artificer class to be more precise. |

I would like to do haste potion or potions of invisibility for example. But mostly to sell to other players or to offer in the shop to be bought by npc. I will read about downtime. There's an unhearted arcana update too about downtime. Can I use that?
I would like to make a few quantities. Of that magic potions like you can allow one per character and you can choose the price. I want to roleplay some kind of artisan that travel to began his first business. Getting weird components to make that wonderous potions. And buy better weapons. He could even be satisfied if he finds rare weapons to use. Anyway, he wants to have his own business and make a powerful company that rivalry the others. Maybe in some point import stuff for West March. So in the end, I have to choose alchemist supplies and herbalist kit, right? Like in the PHB says the you need and herbalist kit proficiency to make antitoxin and potions of healing. By the way, is that rare to find an artificer with a longsword and longbow or only a longsword at least? I want to use the half-elf Variant and choose the elf weapon training

So, wait... you're going to be making a character solely to make potions for others? It takes a lot of time to make a potion and costs half of the listed price in gold (at a limit of 5gp a day). That would eat up essentially all of the character's time.

Like having a way to make invisible without being a spellcaster is amazing and can save your life.

Folks, I am DM a couple of West Marches Adventures in addition to playing in several other PbPs. So, I am hoping that some party will take pity on my poor Half-Elf Draconic Sorcerer (link below) and invite him along on an expedition. I just do not have the bandwidth right now to track down a party.

I feel like the DMs should have some special rights when it comes to joining parties. They should have priority over standard players, at the very least, since they're the whole reason we can play at all. They're working hard for us and they also have less adventure options than we do because they can only play in games GM'd by other GMs.
If this game continues long enough for me to feel confident with the D&D rules systems, I'll host at least one adventure for the DMs. I know others are volunteering to do the same in the DM support thread. Everyone should take a look at that and consider it if they haven't already.
