But I also don't want to spend a signature fighter ability on something that's helpful for others but useless for the character's own odds of survival.
I would say no you can only use it to help others.

On the rumors, hooks, and quests. Can more of the DMs provide suggested levels for the missions. Some already to this and it helps players decide if they are unable to apply?

Second question. If I want to participate in a side quest, do I stay in the Tavern or do I need to go somewhere else?

This section can be fairly misleading. First, some of the hooks are player created, and some are from DMs long gone. Second, very few have been fleshed out at all, even in someone's mind. Third, it's not really the menu it may appear to be, b/c at the end of the day you have to find a DM ready/willing to do a hook. Re your particular question, I don't think there are many that couldn't be done by 1Ls, though some of Trapper's probably can't if he has some there.

Side quest was referring to the rumors, hooks, and quests. IF interested, I can run a few low levels. I've DMed quite a bit, but don't usually DM above 5th level.

Could a Ravnica Minotaur with Dual Wielder feat use its horns as the off hand attack, with a battle axe and shield in hand?
(Realise it wouldn’t get the +1 to AC)

The DMs have said no - at least those chiming in so far. One noted that you could theoretically take a monk dip...

Hm. I don't think of it that way.

As I've always understood it the 2:1 SR:LR ratio in the DMG is designed to properly balance SR classes like Warlock with LR classes like Wizard, and the encounters:LR ratio similarly balances LR-heavy classes with others. Significantly departing from those ratios for one adventure is obviously no disaster.

You may be thinking about the overall length of the adventure as well. Since WM leveling and loot are per adventure, if an adventure has many more or less xp worth of encounters, that will likely affect the length of the adventure, which unbalances it for those players in a way that might be irksome. However, if you wanted to have, say, a double-length adventure, you could probably just arrange for it would count for two adventures for leveling and loot.

I'll probably need your help on that one. I was thinking of maybe 3 SR and 1 LR to allow the spellcasters to recover. I have a lot of traps in store and while I want the group to plan strategically don't want to screw them over either. Maybe I'm thinking of it being longer and should be thinking more in a short quick mission instead of an extended campaign...
