Yes as it is a flat bonus on top of other calculations, however you would be working of the armor formula instead of what the creature's natural armor if it had it would be. It would match a character who is maxing their AC (Shield+Defensive ability of some sort from class) until +4 and +5 proficiency where it would pull ahead by 1 or 2 respectively.

So, with school not being a thing until somewhere halfway september I have much more bandwidth for games than I have games. I'd hate to sign up for a long campaign and have to drop out when school kicks up again, but this game (at least, the way I remember it) is a lot more episodic, so given that I finish the adventure I should be able to drop out again if time allows. I'd just like to know if I can join temporarily knowing that I'll have to drop out again later or if you'd rather not put in the effort of checking character sheets and other administrative duties knowing I'll drop out.
If you do allow me however I've got another problem, I've deleted the character sheet of my previous character Luven (Firbolg Druid, outcast from his clan and now a researcher). I can probably dig up his stat array and make a new character sheet for him. He should be level two now since you've normalised gold, exp, and magic items and he's completed a first mission. Should I try to re-create him or would you rather have me create a new character?

FYI, West Marches is in the middle of a game-wide event, a siege on the city, which won't finish until September. People are still being brought in, but it's not like the usual adventures. (I don't have an answer to the rest of your question about participation - that's for mighty.)
Re the character, that's actually your choice because you can always roll a new character if you've taken the old one on at least one adventure. (You can't have more than one character adventuring at a time unless you are DMing as well.) |

I hate to bump the thread unnecessarily, but I think mighty won't look at the thread unless I do. So here's my question again: would it be alright if I rejoined knowing I'll have to drop out somewhere halfway September(Seems to line up with the current event)? Or would the paperwork be too much?

Hey! Going to weigh in here. You play if you want to play, but I don’t think any DM can guarantee being able to wrap up a game by any specific date (we tried and failed at that in June) On the other side of the coin, we would like to avoid starting a game with players who know in advance they will disappear completely partway through.
You’re the only one who can judge your activity level and how it will be affected in September. Slow a lot, slow a little, disappear completely? If you feel you can play a game, even with slowed post rate startig September, post your character’s name class and level in the general OOC thread and a DM will pick you up.

Hmm, well, I probably could continue playing past september, albeit at a severely lowered posting rate. That said, the main reason why I left the game initially was that I didn't quite like how the games were mostly episodic and one off without an overarcing plot. Which is fine for a temporary exercise to stretch my creative muscles, but (in my oppinion) a bit unrewarding for long-term investment. There's a chance I can play past mid september but I'm not inclined to invest that much time in this game for the aforementioned reasons. Having said that, I think it's quite clear that I will dissapear later on.
Then there's also a friend of mine, who's asked me to help her run a game on site. Well, I'm not quite sure where that's headed, but I should probably keep that bandwith reserved. That all said, I think I'll stay out of this game then. Thanks for helping me, have some RPXP on me.

Hi all,
related to what was mentioned just now: How long are the games usually? And what posting rate is expected? Thanks! PS: I rather won't start any time soon, I'm just a long term planner. |

Can plate armor be purchased (with gold)? If so, at what price?

I just saw the message PR sent us about calling the adventure for his sabbatical from WM. I'm curious (not desperate) to know when regular adventures start up again, and how the higher level one-shots are going to work - in a layman/player level of info. @anyone who wants to give me something on that, Thanks.

Regular adventures should be resuming. We need to wrap up the current siege missions and I need to do a summary based on the results. The high level adventures will run broadly similar to current ones. Information/requirements will be coming out shortly.

Posting interest in DMing. Have DM'd a few times but never on PBP. Would appreciate some pointers to get started.
