@SecretID
Oh cool, I wasn't aware about these UA rules. That gives a bit of an relief to my decision making problems. However, I will never gain another cleric level as I will multiclass to wizard, thus I'm not sure if any of this applies. I guess the question is: Do the UA-Class Feature rules allow me to replace a cleric Cantrip with a cleric Cantrip, when I don't gain a cleric level but a wizard level with a multiclass character? Many steps in the character 'conversion thread' sound to me like one would have to do them anyway, when completing an adventure, eg. roll for an item, set the total loot to the indicated value (which isn't true it seems, as I read here). I also got the impression that I have to refer to the table in this thread because the thread is actually called Leveling up and Earning Loot. Moreover, the READ FIRST- New Player Thread says background gold +25gp, the other thread says +50 gp. Don't get the wrong impression I'm not worried about my loot, also my current adventure will still take a few months. I just thought about my cantrips and then I tried to figure out how everything goes when leveling up. Thanks! |

If you have a lot of this adventure left, I think you should definitely ask your current DM about tweaking your character - it shouldn't be any problem, but better to ask earlier. Last edited by secretID; Apr 23rd, 2020 at 01:36 PM. |

Our adventure actually started already 2019, that's why I thought we will go through the conversion anyway, even if most of our PC's are level 1 (also because I wrongly understood that step 7 mentions a new increased starting gold). Thanks again for the clarifications and help! |

I don't recall if this was asked before, but when we roll for items during character conversion it says "value closest to your roll". Does that mean closest without going over, or closest as in actual difference + or -?
Example: if someone rolls 700 and the lower item is 650 but the higher item is 725. Technically the roll is closer to 725. |

Edit: Oops; no I wasn't. The relevant context is much earlier. Closest in actual difference + or -; the item value can exceed the roll. Last edited by secretID; Apr 23rd, 2020 at 07:55 PM. |

Hello:
I did dice rolling in the "Lady Luck's House" thread for my character stats for a new character, and had to do it several times until I got at least two 15s. It took 6 tries, and I kept editing the post each time to place the last roll under a spoiler button and to add a new set of rolls. The post is here: https://www.rpgcrossing.com/showthre...94#post8739294 As you can see, the first set of rolls is now highlighted in red. I don't think I did anything to alter it/ mess with the first set of rolls, and the rest of rolls appear normally (i.e., without the red box). Does this mean that I (unintentially) did something when I was editing to affect the first set of rolls? Obviously, I don't want there to be any issue about cheating the system, so just wanted to figure out if I made a mistake, and if so, what it might have been. Thanks. ------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: After playing around with the dice roller in the "Dice Roller and Tag Testing Thread," I think that when I made the second roll in the editor, I copied and pasted the text setting up the first role and didn't delete the dice database identifier number, which is why the first set of roll results is the same as the second set. This apparently causes the original set of rolls to appear red-boxed, while the second set of rolls appears legitimate. Let me know if I need to do anything else, or should just proceed with character creation using the last set of rolls. Thanks (and I promise that if you accept me into a game, I am not normally this high maintenance).

Hi
My first adventure ended (earlier than expected). So now I saw this post about downtime. I read: "After completing an adventure you character gains 2 months of down time (60 days)." Do I understand correctly that even without a RL break I could use this downtime (2 month=8 weeks) for ie. Practicing a Profession (described under the same link) and earn gold? Without toolskills etc--> 6gp per week over 2 month = 60 days = 8 weeks = 8x6=48gp Now I actually plan to make a RL break, and read: "You can additionally choose to have a character spend additional days working towards a goal. You must declare a character is doing this (not simply leaving and claiming it retroactively). Once you declare the character may not be used in any adventure for 60 days in real life. They may be used in any Role Playing thread, but may not go on adventures until after the 60 days. If you do so, you gain d3+1 months of downtime ((d3+1)*30)." That means I roll a dice when not playing for 60 RL days and I gain (in addition to the 48gp earned already without RL break) the following: d3+1 month --> 2-4 month = 60-120 days = 8-16 weeks --> min. 8x6=48gp and max. 16x6=96gp. ? |

TomBombadil,
Khat is back from her first adventure in the West Marches and keen earn a little gold Practicing a Profession. However, Khat is smart enough (Int 11) to know that she does not want to earn money using just her smarts. Khat now as a Flute of Illusion and knows how to play the flute. However, she does not have a 'Performance' skill. What Khat would like to do is use her Persuasion skills as a 'Salesperson for a local Merchant. I think Faronas could use a bright young feline as a Salesperson. As a Salesperson, that would be Persuasion +8 (+4 Cha and expertise gives double prof). Let me know if that is appropriate.
