While advertising the hell out of: One D&D

They're counting on: updaters and new hobbyists

and instead of murdering the old: outright
they're betting on a slow: death-by-attrition

Word-of-mouth is a poor replacement for: Hasbro's advertising budget
and their product is: synonymous with the hobby

And if that slow attrition: takes too long?
And if they drag their feet: on actually putting it into CC?

It's fine, no one was against them doing whatever they want with whatever products they create in the future.

And yeah, maybe that means 5th edition will slowly die, but it means everything built off the OGL and the people who continue to support dead editions are still okay.

It means this site, for instance, can continue to host form fillable character sheets, something that wouldn't have been allowed under their revised OGL POS.

I mean: people still play 3.5e; and Odnd is supposed to be reverse compatible in some respect. I actually kinda doubt 5e goes away like 4e did, especially now that it's *so* wide open. In addition, Kobold Press's system is supposed to use close-enough math that their 5e supplements are usable between both games. Black Flag sounds kinda like 5e's Pathfinder.

at my location probably employed 100-150.

In my experience about 40 customers a day.
I think it was rare to see/speak to the same customer twice in one day.
20,000+ people a day unable to pay their bills.

This job set my mind frame up to avoid being part of that statistic as much as possible.
That's why for a time (it's been fixed now thankfully) my vehicle left me on the side of the road many times.
Cause god damn it! It's paid off. It's old too. Only 1 year younger than me.


Also, Dirk, Remember my complaints about my employment? Well I am still there... But they gave me a new position. Now I can't get enough of work. I am staying late and doing overtime and trying to make that extra money. Just the week before last I hated the lot of them. I mean... I still do but now I don't report to them. Report to the head boss herself.

I like that. I also like Pathfinder. And Forth Worth.

I live in north Dallas, which is urban sprawl. Forth Worth is much cooler. It has some of the urban sprawl, but it also has what Non Texansforeigners think of what Texas is, Billy Bob’s Honky Tonk, a world class rodeo, plenty of places to buy your Tony Lamas and a daily cattle drive through the heart of the town.
