Honeysuckle gives the newcomer a long, hard stare, with intense snorts coming from his cow-like nostrils.
All of a sudden he erupts with a booming laugh. "Oh! It been a long time! You look different, friend. I different too. Am magic now too!" Honeysuckle tries his hardest to make one of the exploding fairies materialize, but no avail. He shrugs off the idea like he never said it and then grabs Rolan in a tight embrace. "I rememeber Bullywogs! I still have medal." He turns to the party with a wide smile. "It ok. This is..." he gives a big wink to Rolan "...friend...and this is Glanteth, Rikke and Torgrun. Sit, sit! Let's tell you our story!"

”You fought an alligator? That’s nifty. I’ve never seen an alligator. We did fight a giant crocodile… umm… last week, and that was scary. He was all ‘Chomp, chomp, chomp’ and I was trying to throw a potion of divination in his mouth to show him the future where we beat him up, but it’s real hard to throw when you’re in the ocean dodging teeth,” Rikke shook her head as she remembered the harrowing experience, only to look up and realize that she’d missed something. Shrugging, she continued on with a wave to Rolen, ”Well, anyways, it all started when we went looking for missing people. Then some missing rod. Then some missing people, More missing people. A missing person. Now we’re here. Lots of demons, lots of fires, but I think we’re doing okay.”

She gave a hearty thumbs up on that last point, although the nervous smile she shot the others belied a little concern. Sure they were still alive, but she sometimes worried about their scrappy, barely surviving adventuring style. Sometimes… until a waitress put a drink down in front of her and the thoughts drifted off into nothing. ”So now we’re going to fight the bigger, boss demon person lady, once we find her I guess, and I think we’re going to win. Oh yeah, that's right, I’m Rikke.”

"Kmmph..." Glanteth snorts and begins coughing as he's taking a drink from his ale. He loved Rikke and how she always brought the lighter side of things to the surface, often when circumstances were the most grim. Finally recovering from his ale-choking bout, the Norseman turns back to the table, thankful he hadn't sprayed anyone. "Excuse me. I wasn't aware of the vampire situation. That sounds... well, I don't even know what to say. We've been chasing after this fiend-worshiping cult that's been abducting people from the town - thinking we're actually protecting the town - but in the meantime, vampires are running rampant in the streets? *sigh* Well, I guess we can only chase one hare at a time, otherwise both will escape us."

"So," looking the mysterious newcomer in the eye, "Honeysuckle says you're skilled in the arcane arts, if in a less conventional way than most." Glanteth raises his cup in a mock toast (not mocking, just not expecting the cup bang) before drinking from it. "You could really contribute to our party as long as you're all-in. Unfortunately, we have a Succubus to locate and kill. It's my bet that she'll have a ridiculous amount of minions to wade through as well. Are you up for it?"

Now to everyone at the table, "We can't really do anything at all until we get some kind of lead on where to find this Ignisora fiend. Ideas anyone?"

You can choose from any of the following effects when you cast this spell. As an action on your turn, you can repeat the same effect or choose a different one.

Flood. You cause the water level of all standing water in the area to rise by as much as 20 feet. If the area includes a shore, the flooding water spills over onto dry land. If you choose an area in a large body of water, you instead create a 20-foot tall wave that travels from one side of the area to the other and then crashes down. Any Huge or smaller vehicles in the wave's path are carried with it to the other side. Any Huge or smaller vehicles struck by the wave have a 25 percent chance of capsizing. The water level remains elevated until the spell ends or you choose a different effect. If this effect produced a wave, the wave repeats on the start of your next turn while the flood effect lasts.

Part Water. You cause water in the area to move apart and create a trench. The trench extends across the spell's area, and the separated water forms a wall to either side. The trench remains until the spell ends or you choose a different effect. The water then slowly fills in the trench over the course of the next round until the normal water level is restored.

Redirect Flow. You cause flowing water in the area to move in a direction you choose, even if the water has to flow over obstacles, up walls, or in other unlikely directions. The water in the area moves as you direct it, but once it moves beyond the spell's area, it resumes its flow based on the terrain conditions. The water continues to move in the direction you chose until the spell ends or you choose a different effect.

Whirlpool. This effect requires a body of water at least 50 feet square and 25 feet deep. You cause a whirlpool to form in the center of the area. The whirlpool forms a vortex that is 5 feet wide at the base, up to 50 feet wide at the top, and 25 feet tall. Any creature or object in the water and within 25 feet of the vortex is pulled 10 feet toward it. A creature can swim away from the vortex by making a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC. When a creature enters the vortex for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and is caught in the vortex until the spell ends. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage, and isn't caught in the vortex. A creature caught in the vortex can use its action to try to swim away from the vortex as described above, but has disadvantage on the Strength (Athletics) check to do so. The first time each turn that an object enters the vortex, the object takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage; this damage occurs each round it remains in the vortex.Control Water, 4th Level Divination - Casting Time: 1 action (or ritual), Range: self, Components: V,S,M (incense and a sacrificial offering appropriate to your religion, together worth at least 25 gp, which the spell consumes), Duration: Instantaneous - Your magic and an offering put you in contact with a god or a god's servants. You ask a single question concerning a specific goal, event, or activity to occur within 7 days. The GM offers a truthful reply. The reply might be a short phrase, a cryptic rhyme, or an omen. The spell doesn't take into account any possible circumstances that might change the outcome, such as the casting of additional spells or the loss or gain of a companion. If you cast the spell two or more times before finishing your next long rest, there is a cumulative 25 percent chance for each casting after the first that you get a random reading. The GM makes this roll in secret.Divination, 4rd Level Evocation - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: 300ft (20ft radius cylinder), Components: V,S,M, Duration: Instantaneous - A hail of rock-hard ice pounds to the ground in a 20-foot-radius, 40-foot-high cylinder centered on a point within range. Each creature in the cylinder must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and 4d6 cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Hailstones turn the storm's area of effect into difficult terrain until the end of your next turn. At Higher Levels. Torgrun Stonethrower - Hill Dwarf Druid(Sheet) (XP and Loot)

The tension in Torgrun's muscles eased as he let out a small breath of relief when he realized the stranger was actually the fellow that he originally assumed him to be. "Aye, names Torgrun, Torgrun Stonethrower. Pleased ta meet ya," said the druid as he spat on his hand and stuck it out in greeting. "I'm sure glad HS recognized ya cause it would a been a shame ta have ta kill ya even before ya got a chance ta join us. Anyway, glad ta have another to help the cause."

Torgrun turned to HS and looked at the book. Turning back to Glanteth he replied, "Well maybe I can take a look at that book. I ain't skilled in that kinda magic learning but I have a bit of schoolin' and maybe it can give us some lead or somethin'. Maybe ya can help me go through it Glan." He flipped open the book and with Glanteth's help scanned the pages trying to make out anything that made sense to him.

Flood. You cause the water level of all standing water in the area to rise by as much as 20 feet. If the area includes a shore, the flooding water spills over onto dry land. If you choose an area in a large body of water, you instead create a 20-foot tall wave that travels from one side of the area to the other and then crashes down. Any Huge or smaller vehicles in the wave's path are carried with it to the other side. Any Huge or smaller vehicles struck by the wave have a 25 percent chance of capsizing. Part Water. You cause water in the area to move apart and create a trench. The trench extends across the spell's area, and the separated water forms a wall to either side. The trench remains until the spell ends or you choose a different effect. The water then slowly fills in the trench over the course of the next round until the normal water level is restored.

Redirect Flow. You cause flowing water in the area to move in a direction you choose, even if the water has to flow over obstacles, up walls, or in other unlikely directions. The water in the area moves as you direct it, but once it moves beyond the spell's area, it resumes its flow based on the terrain conditions. The water continues to move in the direction you chose until the spell ends or you choose a different effect.

Whirlpool. This effect requires a body of water at least 50 feet square and 25 feet deep. You cause a whirlpool to form in the center of the area. The whirlpool forms a vortex that is 5 feet wide at the base, up to 50 feet wide at the top, and 25 feet tall. Any creature or object in the water and within 25 feet of the vortex is pulled 10 feet toward it. A creature can swim away from the vortex by making a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC. When a creature enters the vortex for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and is caught in the vortex until the spell ends. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage, and isn't caught in the vortex. A creature caught in the vortex can use its action to try to swim away from the vortex as described above, but has disadvantage on the Strength (Athletics) check to do so. The first time each turn that an object enters the vortex, the object takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage; this damage occurs each round it remains in the vortex.Control Water, 4th Level Divination - Casting Time: 1 action (or ritual), Range: self, Components: V,S,M (incense and a sacrificial offering appropriate to your religion, together worth at least 25 gp, which the spell consumes), Duration: Instantaneous - Your magic and an offering put you in contact with a god or a god's servants. Even with everyone's help it was tough going for the dwarf. It wasn't that he couldn't read it, of course he knew how to read after all. He wasn't a completely uneducated mountain dwarf or something. But he couldn't figure out the reasoning behind the words, the true meaning. Looking around the table, Rikke could tell that things weren’t going well with the big ritual book. At least they could read it now, but Rikke knew that just because you could understand something, it didn’t mean you could understand it; like math, or baking. Fortunately, Rikke was a big-time adventurer and always had great ideas some of the time, and she figured this might be one of them.

”We need a wizard, I think. They’re always really smart mostly,” she said, though it wasn’t quite clear from her tone and expression if that was a statement or question. Turning to Glanteth, ”We could ask that guy at the other tavern… tall, human with, you know, the white hair and not very nice, you know, the guy. Or maybe the mustache man, Ozzy… Iggy… something. He wasn’t super helpful either most of the time, but now that we got Hip-hop he might be happier.”

So, should you have something written in an obscure language, I could help with the translation. However, I would have no idea what it means."

" This brings me to a bit of a warning about my combat ability." Rolen chuckled, "When it comes to my fighting, my skills are sole those granted by my patron." Rolen tapped his staff and longbow, "When it comes to the weapons blessed by my patron, few are my equal. However, I'm at loss should I need to wield another weapon. Similarly, my magics are designed mostly for single combat."

Glanteth audibly snorted at the end of Rolen's statement. "Well, welcome to the life of an actual adventurer, Rolen. We may have a very full combat floor, if my suspicions are correct. If we're able to find this Succubus, I expect that she'll have quite a few minions in her service." Suddenly realizing how condescending his diatribe sounded in response to Rolen's admissions, he took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I just realized how badly that sounded as soon as my ears caught up with my mouth. Truly, I meant no offense. If your powers have been attuned to single combat though, I'm hoping you can begin thinking on how to adapt them to multiple enemies. All of our lives may depend on it." The Norseman held the newcomer's gaze gravely for a few moments, trying to accentuate the sincerity of his apology.

Addressing everyone now (including Rolen as an equal member), "Okay, I have a plan to begin and I hope you'll all trust me enough to follow." The Norseman grabs his mostly full tankard and drains it in a guzzling show. "Follow me and I'll explain on the way." Standing up so quickly, Thor's cleric almost knocked his chair backwards to the floor, but caught it just in time in the manner of a practiced drunk before heading for the door, his manner indicating his obvious belief that his companions were in tow.

Outside the tavern, Glanteth says over his shoulder, "I'm sorry, but first stop is the Gelch's. I have to see that baby so it's not nagging on me and I can focus my mind on other things." Immediately showing how unfocussed his mind is, the Viking heads straight for a cart vendor. "Meat on the street! I love this guy!" Glanteth pauses the party at the street vendor cooking beef kabobs over an open flame, coated with some kind of sticky sauce - teriyaki, he thought the man with an uncomfortably placed mole on his face had called it. As they exited the tavern Honeysuckle mused on their next destination and Ms. Gelch. He racked his memory for the significance of the woman and was quiet for quite some time before then loudly coming to his conclusion "Oh! I hope Gelch didn't birth a demon!...Oh dear!"

Honeysuckle noticed Glanteth toying with his own difficulty concerning his offering. "Thank you...But no can eat. Cow not problem. That circle of life. But Honeysuckle cannot eat meat. Only vegetables. No digest, see? But if ok, can I give to dogs? And maybe birds? Not rats though. They greedy..."

Each creature that starts its turn in the line must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 15 feet away from you in a direction following the line. Any creature in the line must spend 2 feet of movement for every 1 foot it moves when moving closer to you. The gust disperses gas or vapor, and it extinguishes candles, torches, and similar unprotected flames in the area. It causes protected flames, such as those of lanterns, to dance wildly and has a 50 percent chance to extinguish them. As a bonus action on each of your turns before the spell ends, you can change the direction in which the line blasts from you.Gust of Wind, 2nd-Level Abjuration - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: Touch, Components: V,S, Duration: Instantaneous - You touch a creature and can end either one disease or one condition afflicting it. The condition can be blinded, deafened, paralyzed, or poisoned.Lesser Restoration, 2nd-level evocation, Casting Time: 1 action, Range: 60ft (10ft radius globe), Components: V, S, M (a forked twig), Duration: Instantaneous - A sudden loud ringing noise, painfully intense, erupts from a point of your choice within range. Each creature in a 10-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 3d8 thunder damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature made of inorganic material such as stone, crystal, or metal has disadvantage on this saving throw. A nonmagical object that isn't being worn or carried also takes the damage if it's in the spell's area. At Higher Levels. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the weapon up to 20 feet and repeat the attack against a creature within 5 feet of it. The weapon takes the form of Thor's War Hammer. At Higher Levels. 3rd Level Spells Prepared: 3rd-Level Conjuration - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: 120 feet (60ft radius cylinder), Components: V,S, Duration: 10 minutes concentration - A storm cloud appears in the shape of a cylinder that is 10 feet tall with a 60-foot radius, centered on a point you can see within range directly above you. The spell fails if you can’t see a point in the air where the storm cloud could appear (for example, if you are in a room that can’t accommodate the cloud). When you cast the spell, choose a point you can see under the cloud. A bolt of lightning flashes down from the cloud to that point. Each creature within 5 feet of that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 3d10 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. On each of your turns until the spell ends, you can use your action to call down lightning in this way again, targeting the same point or a different one. If you are outdoors in stormy conditions when you cast this spell, the spell gives you control over the existing storm instead of creating a new one. Under such conditions, the spell’s damage increases by 1d10. At Higher Levels. That creature returns to life with 1 hit point. This spell can't return to life a creature that has died of old age, nor can it restore any missing body parts.Revivify, 3rd Level Conjuration - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: 150 feet (40ft radius cylinder), Components: V,S,M, Duration: 1 minute concentration - Until the spell ends, freezing rain and sleet fall in a 20-foot-tall cylinder with a 40-foot radius centered on a point you choose within range. The area is heavily obscured, and exposed flames in the area are doused. The ground in the area is covered with slick ice, making it difficult terrain. When a creature enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, it falls prone. If a creature starts its turn in the spell's area and is concentrating on a spell, the creature must make a successful Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or lose concentration.Sleet Storm, 3rd Level Conjuration - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: self (40ft radius global), Components: V,S,M, Duration: 10 minutes concentration - You call forth spirits to protect you. They flit around you to a distance of 15 feet for the duration. If you are good or neutral, their spectral form appears angelic or fey (your choice). If you are evil, they appear fiendish. When you cast this spell, you can designate any number of creatures you can see to be unaffected by it. An affected creature's speed is halved in the area, and when the creature enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 3d8 radiant damage (if you are good or neutral) or 3d8 necrotic damage (if you are evil). On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage. At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 3rd.Spirit Guardians
4th Level Spells Prepared: 4th Level Abjuration - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: 60ft, Components: V,S,M, Duration: Concentration/1 minute - You attempt to send one creature that you can see within range to another plane of existence. The target must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be banished.

If the target is native to the plane of existence you're on, you banish the target to a harmless demiplane. While there, the target is incapacitated. The target remains there until the spell ends, at which point the target reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied.

If the target is native to a different plane of existence than the one you're on, the target is banished with a faint popping noise, returning to its home plane. If the spell ends before 1 minute has passed, the target reappears in the space it left or in the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied. Otherwise, the target doesn't return.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 4th.Banishment,4rd Level Transmutation - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: 300ft, Components: V,S,M, Duration: 10 minutes concentration - Until the spell ends, you control any freestanding water inside an area you choose that is a cube up to 100 feet on a side. You can choose from any of the following effects when you cast this spell. As an action on your turn, you can repeat the same effect or choose a different one.

Flood. You cause the water level of all standing water in the area to rise by as much as 20 feet. If the area includes a shore, the flooding water spills over onto dry land. If you choose an area in a large body of water, you instead create a 20-foot tall wave that travels from one side of the area to the other and then crashes down. Any Huge or smaller vehicles in the wave's path are carried with it to the other side. Any Huge or smaller vehicles struck by the wave have a 25 percent chance of capsizing. The water level remains elevated until the spell ends or you choose a different effect. If this effect produced a wave, the wave repeats on the start of your next turn while the flood effect lasts.

Part Water. You cause water in the area to move apart and create a trench. The trench extends across the spell's area, and the separated water forms a wall to either side. The trench remains until the spell ends or you choose a different effect. The water then slowly fills in the trench over the course of the next round until the normal water level is restored.

Redirect Flow. You cause flowing water in the area to move in a direction you choose, even if the water has to flow over obstacles, up walls, or in other unlikely directions. The water in the area moves as you direct it, but once it moves beyond the spell's area, it resumes its flow based on the terrain conditions. The water continues to move in the direction you chose until the spell ends or you choose a different effect.

Whirlpool. This effect requires a body of water at least 50 feet square and 25 feet deep. You cause a whirlpool to form in the center of the area. The whirlpool forms a vortex that is 5 feet wide at the base, up to 50 feet wide at the top, and 25 feet tall. Any creature or object in the water and within 25 feet of the vortex is pulled 10 feet toward it. A creature can swim away from the vortex by making a Strength (Athletics) check against your spell save DC. When a creature enters the vortex for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and is caught in the vortex until the spell ends. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage, and isn't caught in the vortex. A creature caught in the vortex can use its action to try to swim away from the vortex as described above, but has disadvantage on the Strength (Athletics) check to do so. The first time each turn that an object enters the vortex, the object takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage; this damage occurs each round it remains in the vortex.Control Water, 4th Level Divination - Casting Time: 1 action (or ritual), Range: self, Components: V,S,M (incense and a sacrificial offering appropriate to your religion, together worth at least 25 gp, which the spell consumes), Duration: Instantaneous - Your magic and an offering put you in contact with a god or a god's servants. You ask a single question concerning a specific goal, event, or activity to occur within 7 days. The GM offers a truthful reply. The reply might be a short phrase, a cryptic rhyme, or an omen. The spell doesn't take into account any possible circumstances that might change the outcome, such as the casting of additional spells or the loss or gain of a companion. If you cast the spell two or more times before finishing your next long rest, there is a cumulative 25 percent chance for each casting after the first that you get a random reading. The GM makes this roll in secret.Divination, 4rd Level Evocation - Casting Time: 1 action, Range: 300ft (20ft radius cylinder), Components: V,S,M, Duration: Instantaneous - A hail of rock-hard ice pounds to the ground in a 20-foot-radius, 40-foot-high cylinder centered on a point within range. Each creature in the cylinder must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and 4d6 cold damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Hailstones turn the storm's area of effect into difficult terrain until the end of your next turn. At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the bludgeoning damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th.Ice Storm

”Dangit,” Rikke uttered as she looked around at the empty table, only to find the others headed out into the evening air without her. Dropping down from her chair she chased after them, glad they weren’t in any big rush. Tall folk were always running off to do something new, which was mostly exciting, but also exhausting. One minute they’re talking about fancy magic powers, and the next they’re abandoning you at the inn to go see a baby.

Glanteth was buying some food for the journey across town, something Rikke found he did fairly often, and she was quite certain that she could probably win the bet he proposed. Instead of accepting the offer, however, she shook her head and followed along with the group. She didn’t do gambling very good, and anytime she tried she always came out looking foolish. Feeling Baern’s eyes on her as he followed in the shadows behind them, she knew she had made the right decision. "I figure it'll just look like a baby."
